I will be returning to work in about 2 1/2 months and Alyssa is still fully breast feed (no bottles) She only usually has one or two feeds during the day now so by then she probably wont have any. BUT I really have had enough of breast feeding and would love to stop, but she will not drink formula from either a cup or a bottle. I hate expressing and have never been very good at it. Also I would like her to go straight onto a cup if possible as my other two went onto bottles and it was hell getting them to stop.
I have no idea how to get her to drink formula or milk as she doesn't seem to like it. She has no problem with other dairy food, she eats yoghurt's, cheese and ice cream (bad Mummy). She is happy to drink water from her cup so it's not the cup. I really can't remember how I got the other two to drink milk it's been nearly ten years since I had to do this last time.
Any idea's ????

Xanda went straight from breast to cup, and we also had troubles getting him to drink any other milk. It sounds like she will be getting a good calcium intake from the food mentioned above, the dr told us as long as he was getting calcium from somewhere and is drinking plenty of water, not to push him to hard on the milk thing.

Other suggestions the plunket nurse had was to warm the milk, either by heating in microwave or watering it down a bit with boiling water. Xanda seemed to prefer it watered down a bit. And another suggestion is to add a teeny tiny amount of milo to it.

Hehe forgot to mention she loves her sisters chocolate milk shakes. But I thought that would be truly bad to go down that route.
Maybe a tiny bit of Milo will help to get her started.

Yeah I wasn't sure if I sould even suggest it to you but it is worth a go. Or you could always try mixing a little bit of chocolate milkshake with a cup of milk.

Fully breastfeed babes usually dont drink milk (formula or cows). As she sounds like she is getting enough dairy thru her food I wouldnt worry about the milk side of it and just continue as you are with her also having water as her drink.

Just stick with water for now but you could introduce milo about once a day if you're concerned. I think she's getting enough dairy
