Well I got home from the docs to an urgent call to ring the midwife back.. so i rang her..she wanted to meet me at CWS(hospital) for urgent tests) and to take a bag:( hmmmmm

she had my protein results which were really good but took bloods and wanted to wait for results and get me seen by a doctor.. she took BP and it was up..

got seen by a doc and BP was down again(w2hich she said is better than it being up all the time) but swelling as gone up the whole leg..so I am being monitored twice weekly at CWS but it's likely I will be admitted next week for treatment(which i assume means induction at 37 weeks) but she didnt specifically say seeing as i haven't got pre eclampsia offically yet but it's highly likely I will..so there you go.   I have to ring if i get any symptoms.. hmm better go pack my bag properly i guess:(

I still have the cells that cause preterm labour but she said if I go into labour they will let it progress

and and they take me from 14th feb so 5 days behind my ticker

Firstly big hugs
I gave birth to Gina a month too early (my waters broke and I went into labour) but everything went really well. She never had any problems with keeping her temp, breathing etc and had great apgar scores (9 & 10). So don't worry too much - I'm sure everything will be OK with bubs.

i know i know realistically he will most likely be fine..esp as he's measuring well etc.. but it's still scary ...we always joked he cant come on my Dad's 60th which is today and it just kinda freaks me out.. but i will just have to get over it...maybe look at it positively..the mw said i could still go overdue but i think that's unlikely if I'm in hospital.. so at least I'll have a few less weeks of summer heat:) lol... my mw away till 5th feb though:(

hugs hun!!!

if it's any consolation....my friend had pre-eclampsia with her first and spent alot of time in hospital and bubs was born a week early.

with her second, she was monitored from 35wks and had weekly hospital appts....bubs was 8days overdue. she kept asking them (hospital) to induce her or do an elective c/s, but they wanted to let it happen naturally!

so what i'm trying to say, is even though you are in hospital, it doesn't mean bubs will be early. try to stay positive and not stress, hard i know!

They told me anything pass 34 weeks they don't stop labour. Mine stopped on its own though luckily.
They also will try to get you to go as long as possible, for me they wanted to just get a few extra days, then they said 36 weeks then 37 weeks then 39 weeks, then I packed a fit!!! cos they were really pissing me off and got booked in for 38weeks.
Good luck and keep me informed more

Hope you are feeling ok Kaww! Must be nerve-wracking not knowing what's going on... but don't worry, your Bubba will be well set up to cope if they decided they had to induce you by this far along... his chances are really good! My mum had to be induced early with me and my brother for pre-eclampsia too.

On the up-side, you might get to meet bubs sooner, yay!

Good luck getting everything organised, and have fun at your Dad's thing

Hugs Kawww. I had to go to hospital for monitoring twice a week too for possible cholestasis and pre-eclampsia and it is really scary not knowing exactly whats going to happen. We were told I definitely wouldn't go past 38 weeks and here I am at 39 weeks with no signs of labour at all. In my case all my tests and BP returned to normal after a few weeks and we're fine now so it just goes to show anything can happen. At least you're being closely monitored and you know baby is in safe hands.

All the best.

freesia- yeah im hoping thats what happens to me..they tested me three times for the liver thing but i dont have it and at the moment i dont have pre eclampsia..they are just worried about such sudden and pronounced swelling..but i had fat feet to start off with:)

dont really wanna go to hospital today as hopefully it wont hurt while they look at me and test me at physio..hopefully they just give me a belt and tell me to go home and rest:)

yes at least im being closely monitored but between that and the Strep B i just hope he gets here ok!:)

no which i thought was weird..the registrar felt around and smiled a lot...and didnt even monitor him so i assume that is good..the midwife said he feels 'perfectly normal size for this gestation' ?so i assume that so far they arent worried about him..she didnt check heartbeat even...normally she does but it was only friday when she last checked him on the monitor thing and said his heartrate etc was fine..

If you can, try get hold of a book called "Bestfeeding: Getting Breastfeeding Right for You" by Mary Renfrew, Chloe Fisher and Suzanne Arms and also "Juju Sundin's Birth Skills with Sarah Murdoch"

I've found both these books brilliant - Easy to read and really easily comprehensive (which is good when you have preggy brain )

The Bestfeeding book is by far and large the best book on Breastfeeding I've managed to come across to date, so if you can find a copy, definately get it!

All the best!

Well I sent you a PM back but I forgot to mention the Liver tests and your post triggered my mind.

They are testing your Uric Acid levels, with Andrew mine went sky high (alomst double the normal amount - yet I was sure I wasn't sick), and with Josh they were in the .4 - .5 range so still high.

she tested liver because of the itching i had a week or so ago adn uric acid tests fine..had two sets of tests in last 4 days and eveything fine except platelets down (form 240 in the start to 160 and now 140) but registrar wasnt worried that much about that.
