Everyone is different dtmum, so really it would be hard to judge when it will pass for you. Is this your first pregnancy?
As for me, with all my 3 pregnancies, it lasted up to around 18 weeks. The nausea (the worst part for me) ceased around 14 wks, but the vomiting hung around a few more weeks.
I KNOW how nasty MS is, I had a couple of hospital visits to get an IV line put in to rehydrate me. I could hardly eat/drink anything for weeks, would always lose heaps of weight, so through feeling so crappy - I would actually be looking better for it!

I had mine up until about 21 weeks. From time to time I am occassionally sick, or get that wave of possible nausea. I was relieved when it stopped as I was told some people have it really violently throughout their entire pregnancy. I couldn't walk into the kitchen without either feeling ill or being ill. Smells got to me big time. Once morning sickness left me, it got replaced with heartburn. Yuck.
I hope yours stops soon, I remember being advised that most women who have morning sickness only have it til about 12 weeks, but it is different to every individual.

Yeah I actually think the whole 12 week mark is a myth. I think the horrid tiredness passes around 12 weeks, but not often do I hear of women only having MS up to 12 weeks.

With Maya I stopped throwing up every day at 16 weeks, nausea lasted all the way thru with occasional vomiting. With the gremlins I vomited every day from 5 1/2 weeks until they were induced at 37 weeks. This time round I still have nausea and am still vomiting every morning but do have days where I don't feel bad, and now that the complete exhaustion has eased I am coping a little better.

And then there are people like me who dont have MS except for waves of queasyness every now and again who stress constantly about it meaning the hormone levels arent high enough and when I go to have my scan they are going to tell me there is nothing growing in there
Damned if you do and damned if you dont!!!

Gosh, looking at these replies I feel lucky! I had mine from 6 till 10 weeks, and at that time both the ms and extreme tiredness went which I was ever grateful for!

Mine lasted until I was 17 weeks - both nausea and vomiting...it truly was a horrid time, but now it seems just a distant memory!

I had it from about 7 weeks till 18 weeks, and then again from 30 weeks till the end. The ms from 30 weeks onwards was between 1-3PM every single day!

I'm a little different I guess cos I've had hyperemesis (severe nausea & vomiting, requiring hospitalisation and fluids). It started at 6 weeks and was really bad up until about 20 weeks. To this day, I'm now 37 weeks, and still vomiting! It NEVER went away! But it's not as bad, usually just 1-2 vomits a day. I can't wait till this boy is out & I stop vomiting! It will all be worth it Some people don't have the slightest bit of MS!

I had it from about 7-8ish weeks until 18 weeks (hardly any vomitting, just constant worst-hangover-of-my-life type MS). All I could eat was bread and gingernuts.
I was fine for about 5 weeks where I cooked and ate anything, but then it came back so I barely cook now and only eat carbs. So I guess its just different for everyone.
Oh and I hate to tell you this, but a lot of people say that the 2nd trimester is fantastic because the MS is gone, and you're not yet big enough for it to be annoying. Maybe it was just because it was through winter for me, but I never got that great 2nd trimester feeling. Like I said above, only about 5 weeks of feeling 'normal'.

for me I had none with the boy's got a little quecy at tthe end of the day with Alan but that was really all. This time I am feeling really ill for the first few hours in the morning bit like a hangover and then again around tea time usually vomiting as well in the evening.

mine stopped with my first pregnancy around the 16-18 week mark. this time around was much better for me, and i found it stopped around 13 weeks. i could barely get out of bed with MS with my first, this time around i took vitamin B6 from 6 weeks and really think this made a big difference.

With Andrew I didn't have any just the odd bit of nausea. But with Josh it hung around for weeks. I think it was about 16 weeks when it finally went. I nneded meds to stop it with Josh as it was interferring with my studying.

| darn there goes my theory I thought that maybe I had it worse cause this might be a girl. . |
My MW was sure Josh was a girl, even when I was in labour she was still sure he was going to pop out with missing parts.

Wow, someone else who has hyperemesis! Apart from Clare (Joshierocks) I don't know anyone else around here who has/has had it. I've had it with all three ongoing pregnancies, hospitalised with Maya and this one and on IV fluids daily for weeks with the gremlins, and the vomiting didn't stop till the day I delivered them. Every single time I've sworn that I'd never do it again, yet here I am... this one is definitely the last tho!
