I was using Persil Sensitive on Sam's clothes but now just wash them with Ecostore as the Persil gave her a rash   My advice is to stay away from the highly perfumed detergents.

As for mattress protectors, we just have the Dr Sprott cover over Sam's mattress and then a blanket, then sheet. Some people complain about the fact that they are a bit noisy (crackly sounding) but I have never found it to be a big problem. The other bonus is you will never have liquid of any type get to the mattress and it is only like $15 to buy one

I'm allergic to really strong washing powders so yeah i was hoping there'd be a really nice soft one for him ..hopefully he doesnt inherit that from me! thanks for the advice.. crinkly is fine if it saves the mattress...i assume the protectors are ok with the angelcare monitors on them too? all these things i cant try out till he gets here!! :) thanks again

Hey, I use ecostore and Spencer has been fine that. My mattress protectors are baby love one, they are a little bit crinkly but not that bad the plastic is covered in something fleecy and we use angel care monitor.

Yeah we use the Dr sprott cover with the Angel Care monitor with no problems at all. We had it in the bassinette (which had a Dr sprott too) and now in the cot.
It certainly comes around fast doesn't it. Better to get organised now! My friend just had her baby yesterday 4 weeks early and is now panicking because of all the things she hadn't done yet

I am using Persil Sensitve on Lukes clothes and stuff - its good becuase there is no perfume, so his clothes don't smell at all once they are washed.

Also, I am using a mattress protector and a woolen drycot thing, no problems so far...

We use the next generation soap powder, its very gentle, phosphate free and has a nice lavender scent. I washed all his baby clothes and blankets before he arrived with this, and he hasnt had any sort of reaction at all. I sometimes use the ecostore one too, but mainly stick to the next generation one.

We have got a Dr Sprott cover on the basinett and on the cot, it is a bit crinkly, but think that the benefits of it outway the noisey-ness. One the basinett I have put a thick cotton towel over it to make it a bit nicer for bubs and on the cot I have put a cotton fleece blanket over it.

Its so exciting when you get to put all the clothes away and they are nice and clean....
