Can anyone tell me if you get a sore pelvic area when the baby drops down?

These last couple of days Ive been in agony and have tended to walk around like Ive got a carrot stuck between my legs ... DH says it looks like the baby has dropped and to quote him ...

"Im sure if I had a head stuck down there between my legs ... it would hurt"

I just wanted to know if this is normal ... before I ring my mw

hehehe it does sound like baby has dropped.. especially with the description of a carrot between your legs.. for me I said it was more like a tennis ball

Quite possible that it is baby dropping. I have SPD which is an intense pelvic pain, which is not nice. Check with your midwife, she will be a bit more informative. Maybe you will have your baby before me!

I don't think it would hurt to speak to your MW. I didn't have any pelvic pain when baby started to engage so there's always the chance it's something else??

If it feels like you have been kicked in the fufu then yes it is most likely the baby engaging. I had this a couple of weeks ago (and still have it!).

Thanks ladies ... and yes Topsy that is a brilliant way to describe it!

Rang the mw and she assured me that all is normal ... she said the baby is either engaging (which would give me a sore pelvic area as everything stretches to accomodate her - damn I knew she would get her daddys head)  or ...

the tendons are stretching of there own accord getting reading for the impending arrival.

Soak in warm bath tonight for me ..... yay!
