I have some (hardly noticeable) on my boobs from when I was younger, and some at the top of my thighs from growth spurts when I was a teen, so I know I can get them. Just kind of assumed I would get them on my belly by now? Not that I'm complaining, I'm quite happy not to get them!
Oh, and I don't know if it makes much difference, but I'm carrying quite small compared to other ladies I've seen. So when did you get them if you did get them? And if I do get them, I can't use all of the stockpile of BioOil I have because I've got a wonderful pregnancy-induced rash on my tummy at the moment. So please stay away stretch marks! |

stretch marks will occur when your belly grows faster than your skin can grow to accomodate it. so generally will be in the last month that you will get them lots. you lucky thing, you might get away with only a few! ------------- Lyla - mum to Xanthe -  my big 4 year old

Emz, I am just getting 1 or 2 now and they are really faint. I have been using both bio oil and palmers cocoa butter stuff and still have a couple. They have only appeared in the last 3-4 days.

They won't necessarily appear at all. I never got them on my tummy. I think I got some on my boobs very early on in pregnancy but they're barely noticeable and don't bother me. It was a pleasant surprise as I thought I was prone to them also. ------------- Robyn www.scarecrowfarm.co.nz |

I have half a dozen or so and they appeared in the last few weeks, really thought I might've gotten away with it but no. Will keep an eye out, I'm not too worried as long as they're not huge, I've got a scar anyway from my naval piercing. Hopefully because bubs is under-average size he might let me away without any! But we'll see... |

My sister got her first at 3 months... so far I haven't got any either. But am expecting them to appear later. Mum refers to her belly as a road map, lots of streets and a couple of main highways.... I've been religiously rubbing bio oil in mroning and night and if my tummy gets a bit itchy during the day I head into the loo and rub more in. Silly isn't it, I'm sure there is no miracle remedy - and I'm well beyond bikini's so no one except hubby will ever see them. |

I got a couple after Madison was born also. Only about 3 little ones near my belly button which are not really noticable. I didn't realise that they culd turn up after birth though, as i thought i had gotten away without getting any -------------

I have stretch marks from when I was a teen on my boobs and hips so assumed I would get them on my belly! I never got any on my belly at all, but I did use bio oil twice a day religiously. Don't know whether that helped or not!

me too! I knew I had one tiny weeny one above my belly button which I thought was kinda cute but I was suprised to find a few little ones under it too. But they are pretty minor. I also had them as a teen and I didnt use any oils during my pregnancy so you might be lucky too |

Can anyone suggest another product besides Bio-Oil or Cocoa Butter that is good for stretch marks? I would prefer something that has no scent (or definetely not as much as cocoa butter!)

A plastic surgeon told me bio-oil is the best thing for scars...
My stretch marks came thick and fast in the 12 days I was overdue  . I was so bummed as had I not gone overdue, I wouldn't have got any at all . But they don't really worry me anymore...the saggy belly is what has me upset ------------- http://lilypie.com">
