ok for the past couple of hours I have been getting what feel like contractions around the lower part of my abdomen.

they are only last about 10-15 seconds but feel quite intense. they tend to come every few minutes.

It sounds like it could be something, do they build in intensity and then ease off? Do they kind of feel like period type cramping? I would start timing them, will give you a better idea of what is going on.
Fingers crossed for you

Cool, try to rest as much as possible while they aren't too painful and remember if your waters brake things might really speed up.
So exciting...you should get to see your baby soon

If you are concerned about bub's quietness, call your mw and she can check the heart rate for you. Best thing to do in that situation is to have a big drink of cold water then lie down for 1/2 hour and baby should be moving by the end of that time. It is common for babies to stop moving a bit before labour.

Also with the contractions (you had minor ones last night) if it is nearing bedtime then hop in the bath and see if they ease off. If it is false labour they usually will and then you can go to sleep I did this with Kryssi and had the biggest contraction ever so yelled (whoops!) and got out of there lol!
