Has anyone been diagnosed with this? it means having too much fluid in the womb, and I have a very large fetus. I haven't got it, but it's on the borderline. I am off to see the obstetrican @ Chch Womans tomorrow to discuss options for my labour history and also for this birth. Also the baby is 2 weeks ahead, so my new EDD is the 25th Nov, not the 28th. Will let you know what is said tomorrow

Have a look on the Treasures website, there is a woman on there called Donna who had it, she had a rough time but her boy is here safe and sound and oh so cute!
Good luck Lisha, I hope you get to meet bubs soon!

Ok well I can't find her polyhydramnios thread, but here is a link to the one from when she went in to have him, quite a while ago now but she still chats in there almost daily. http://www.treasures.co.nz/Default.aspx?DN=90372,530,523,1,documents&p=229 - Linky
Or you can post a thread to her specifically 'Ash n Jay's Mummy (Donna)' is her name on there. She's a real sweetheart and will happily answer any of your questions.

ETA to fix cruddy spelling

i had polygohydrosis which is no fluid left. That was with my first boy because they were never sure on dates due to him being super long so i ended up going 3 weeks overdue!! before they realised!! my boy was born healthy all-be-it a little blue, tired, long nails and unbelievably wrinkly!!! . When they broke my waters there was litterally only a tiny dribble in there!!!

Not sure if the probs are the same though?????

Good luck Lisha! I was communicating with Donna via text for ages when she was pregnant with Jayden and then after he was born, she's a real sweetie. Hope she can help. I do know that she was allowed to go to 38 or so weeks before she was induced with him, but she had t have the excess fluid drained a couple of times.

I was diagnosed with this after having a growth scan at 36 weeks with my wee girl (now 19months). I went home and researched all over the internet and totally freaked myself out!! I then had my appointment with the obs and he did a quick feel a check of my notes and said " nothing to worry about, you're just having a stonking big baby!!" yes he said stonking!!! Made me feel better but then I thought about pushing this 'stonking' big baby out and that was my next freak out!! As it turns out she wasn't going to come out so ended in emergancy caeasar! Wait til you see the obs before you get too worried especilly as you have said the baby is big, may just be in the same situation as me. It is hard not to worry though isn't it!

Best of luck and let us know how the appt with the obs goes.

Oh I se you are in Chch, you may end up with the obs that I saw, you'll know it's him if he uses 'stonking'to describe bubs!!!!!!!

Back from app, still feeling werid in my lower half of my body, can't walk, have alot of pressure aswell, we talked more about what was going to happen this time around for my labour and birth as last time I lost alot of blood as I had a retained placenta. I am worrying more than I should be, just going to have a big baby

I'm glad it is nothing too serious. What did the obs say about the weird feeling?

Try not to stress about it although that's easier said than done I know. At least your obs is aware of what happened last time and will have a plan in place for whatever may happen this time. You'll be in great hands I am sure. Can't help you with the weird feeling sorry. Hope you feel better soon.

I had heaps of fluid too both times which was why i was soooo huge and of course both babies were big. Apparently it can be a factor in being premature if there is to much pressure from the fluid, they think that may have been why kobe was early. other than that there were no complications though except when my midwife broke my waters (with addison) she joked that i just about flooded the room!

Haha, how early was addison robyn? I am thinking this baby will be here in about 1 week as Lucy was 3 weeks early and I have a history of early and big babies.

Oh yeah that reminds me my friend had a lot of fluid but not quite enough for them to drain her I think and she had her bubs a week or 2 early.
