I know that the more your baby feeds the more milk you make BUT Astin is always all over the show!!! some days he eats heaps and some days he eats hardly anything so on the days where hes not that hungry he gets drowned in milk and just gets too frustrated that he fidgets the whole way through!! and the days where hes very hungry he gets angry cos i dont have enough milk for him and the flow isnt fast enough!!

I just want it to be consistant and i think that i should keep him on for longer to get more milk in but he wont stay on unless there is a good flow and the expresser doesnt do jack to help the situation so how does it work?????? im getting very frustrated with it all and needless to say so is Astin!!

Ermmmm... wait it out until he's a bit older??

Ok, so I know that is NO HELP AT ALL, but seriously, it will get better I'm sure. Hang in there

Or try giving him some water when he's thirsty... that might help with him being a hunger monster. (Is he old enough for that yet?)

Caprece was/is like that, seems like she has a growth spurt and then lets all her hard earned milk go to waste by hardly eating the next day. Is all I can say is hang in there I have a feeling it gets a bit better once they start solids.

Maybe on the lots of milk days only offer him one side at a time and once the milk starts flowing let a bit off into a cloth so he doesn't get so drowned. On the no milk days just let him feed as ofetn as he wants (hard i know with a toddler running around).
Sorry I can't be more help.

it all evens out in the end... maybe hand express a bit off for when there is too much so he doesnt get an overload and get frustrated.

I have just taken him back to the docs as his reflux is playing up something cronic again!! so have been given Losec and apparently he should feed somewhat better when it is sorted BUT still i dont think thatl solve it at least i know hes not wasting away!!

Have you tried expressing on the days he isn't feeding much and then topping him up with ebm on his hungry days?

Once his reflux is under control, his feeding needs should settle down and be much more regular. Hang in there!
