For the last... oh, more than two weeks now I think, Alex has been wanting to feed every 1.5 hours during the day I can usually stretch it out to 2 hours but he gets pretty grumpy about it. At night he'll do 4-5 hours.
It used to be that he'd easily do 3 hourly during the day and 6-8 hours at night.
What's gone wrong? Surely no growth spurt can last this long?

Reflux maybe?? This was one of the signs that Daniel had developed reflux because he wanted to feed lots trying to keep his tummy very full.

How is your supply? Perhaps you could try a supplement or maternity tea to makesure he is getting a full tummy at each feed?

Samantha started off feeding every 3-4 hours, but after about 1-5 to 2 months went into a routine of every 2 hours and has stayed there. I can drag her out to 2.5 but any longer and she is one grumpy baby! I know my supply is fine and she is not huge, so I just go with the flow Hehe, I just realised what a pun that was

it may be a growth spurt. you may have, as sterryn said, to "go with the flow".

i was going to suggest supply as well. As it has been a bit warmer lately. Are you keeping your fluid intake up? He also might just be thirsty cause he is getting a bit hot as well.

Ella also does a similar thing. She started off feeding every 3-4 hours and now feeds roughly every 2 hours during the day (at night she sleeps anywhere between 8-11 hrs, so I don't mind feeding her so much during the day). At first I was worried that it was too much, but she gets a decent amount at each feed and is having good weight gains and is a happy baby so I am not too worried now. Good to know that other babies are doing a similar thing.
Is he taking in a good amount each feed? Have you had him weighted recently?
