Just a question, are they going to remove your IUD or leave it in during the pregnancy? I have read about how they can leave it in and I know someone that had it removed. ------------- http://lilypie.com">  http://lilypie.com">

a person who use to work with my mum (yeah its kinda like a friend of a friend story  ) got pregnant while having an iud in place. She got it taken out and baby was fine (this was the old type IUD not the 'M' one)------------- Ann

Hi there, I juts have an ordinary one NOT a mirena... Doc said I won't be having it out & tomorrow I am having a scan to make sure bubs is okay & to see where the flippin thing is!!! Other than the obvious I dunno how it happened!! I'm still breastfeeding #2 as well so # is one determined Bubba to get this far!! LOL was sooooooooo not suppoed to happen & has upset a lot of plans for the future (eg being skinny for my wedding end of Feb!!) but have already got quite attach to the little peanut ------------- Mum to Alex (11), Blaire (10) & Erika (8) and Damien (6) Successful HWB VBA2Cs! Soon to be surrogate |

I am an IUD baby copper 7 or something, I think it was. Was a bit of a scandal back in the 70's, there were a dew of us I think... and the iud came out after i did. I've already said it, but saying it again, CONGRATS!! ------------- The Honest Un PC Parent of 2, usually stuck in the naughty corner! :P |

Wow congrats what a shock.
My frinds mum got preg with an iud and it apparantly split the egg in 2 and gave her identical twins in but then again my friend tells a few 'stories' that aren't always true

LOL Nikki, pretty much exhausted all contraception options so after this bubs it will just have to be a case of celibacy!! LOL

Best of luck for your scan Toni! One of the mums at Playcentre got pregnant with #7 with an IUD in (yes 7!) and they left it in, she didn't tell anyone she was pregnant till after 14 weeks coz apparently there is a small risk of m/c (that and she was in total shock!) but her baby ended up being nearly 10 lb and overdue. Oh and she got her tubes tied when bubs was about 6 weeks old! ------------- Maya Grace (28/02/03)

Hi Minik8e!! *waves* Well I had my scan and not as far along as my doctor thought, only about 5 weeks! IUD is definitely still in there & I got him to take a pic of it so when I get the film I will see if I can show you guys. Bubs seems to be fine and only complication they are worried about is preterm labour but since that is awhile away yet I'm not too worried. hey busymum the iud usually comes out after the baby with the placenta, I read up on it once.

Thats great that they have decided to leave the IUD in place during the pregnancy! My friend had to have hers removed for some reason, which in hindsight was a bad decision as it caused a miscarriage. There is a small chance of a miscarriage if they remove it early on in pregnancy.

Well Toni i dont know if you still look at this forum but i just found out i am pregnant with an IUD too. Im glad to hear that it can all go ok and they do leave it in because i had heard of a miscarriage being able to happen after removal. I have a scan this week so hopefully all is ok -------------
