... tomorrow! EEK!! Please everyone cross your fingers that it goes smoothly. She has been rather attached to it and I have slowly weaned it, but she still won't go to sleep without it.

So tomorrow morning she is going to post it the dummy fairy for the new babies, and before her afternoon sleep the dummy fairy will have dropped a parcel off for her to replace it (an upsy daisy doll which she will absolutely adore!).

We have been talking about it and she knows what is going to happen, but am still nervous. I figure if she packs a big sad and won't sleep in the afternoon at least she will be exhausted by night time and will hopefully go to sleep easier.

Ah well, she really is a big girl now so should be fine.

LOL, Kellz bought an Upsy Daisy for Isla when we were in Palmy. I just don't get what it is about that show, but Maya loves it and I know Gandt's boys do too. Maya knows all the characters, God only knows how seeing as she's at preschool 4 out of 5 mornings that it's on

Good luck for the rest of the day - let us know how you get on. Oliver is very attached to his dummy and I sometimes I wonder if I should be stopping it now (11 months) or just leaving it until later when he can understand a bit more (like what you are doing)
Fingers crossed it all goes smoothly.

OMG I dont believe it - she's asleep!!

She was happy as sending it off this morning. After lunch she started talking about the dummy fairy, so we went and checked the mailbox and there was a parcel addressed to Hannah. She was pretty rapt with Daisy, and went off to bed. She asked for dummy once and I just said no dummy, thats why the fairy bought Daisy. When I walked out she was saying no dummy, no dummy... She got up a few times, then cried for a few minutes (not very hard tho) and now she is asleep.

That has gone so much smoother than I expected, hope she goes off ok tonight. I am quite glad we waited until now, cos she really does seem to get it.

I did speak a little bit too soon She woke up after 40 mins and was sobbing away, but we talked again about where her dummy has gone etc and she was ok after that. She will be grumpy later from not enough sleep, but at least she will be really tired. So not perfect, but still better than expected.

I thought about you this morning when I was putting Oliver down with his dummy. Dying to hear how it went.

Last night it took her about half an hour to go to sleep and only a few minutes crying. About 1am she came into our room, she cried when I put her back to bed and needed some cuddles and pats but only for a fewminutes. I heard her a couple more times but she was fine. She is in bed again now and just mucking around, not settling but not crying either. I think that is the main change with bedtme, its just taking her a while to settle down without it.

She woke up this morning with itchy puffy eyes and spots (not hives tho) all over her face and its calmed down with her medicine, but still there. Only thing I can put it down to is the new doll, esp cos its only on her face If it puffs up again after this sleep, Daisy may need a few washes!

I think we might have to wait until Caitlin is 2 before the ummy Fairy comes.

We've managed to get rid of it except for sleep times and now DH puts FIVE in her cot at bedtime! I wouldn't mind so much, but he;s never gotten up to her during the night *rolls eyes* I think DH needs the dummy fairy first

Hope Hannah isn't allergic to Daisy and that she continues to cope without the dummy

Just had a thought as I posted - Are you going to give the new baby a dummy? She might steal it back?!?!? lol Aparently my sister used to steal other baby's dummies whilst out shopping (when she was a toddler of course )

he he - yeah I thought about that, but hoping that giving her 5 months or so without it might be enough. Hopefully anyway!

A few more tears tonight, but ok after we talked about it again. She's such a big girl now

Well it has now been a week, and she is finally having both sleeps without crying. Although still really struggling with getting settled for afternoon nap - have been in about 10 times to put her back to bed in the last 40 minutes. I am not giving up on her day sleep that easily - I need my break

The rash is only just going away properly now after a week! Daisy has been through the wash twice and all seems fine now - very random. I checked on her after I posted and she was asleep.

Glad to hear it is all going well with no dummy. As for the dummy stealing thing, I was up at Becca's house (daikini) a mth ago and Alize found Xaviers dummy nad popped it in his month faster than lightening...the funny thing is he has never had a dummy in his life lol. He refused all my efforts when he was a bubba hahaha

Well done Aimee!! All your efforts are starting to pay off and I hope Hannah doesnt get anymore of that rash from her new dolly
