| Ok, We are swaddling Tom but I am thinking about using the safety sleep on him soon. Do we continue to swaddle him or do we have to stop that? |

hehe...I'm following you around...
we started using the safety sleep when we were still wrapping Brenna. you don't have to do both, but if Tom likes being wrapped, then you can still do this then put him in the safety sleep  -------------  My beautiful 2 girls...nearly 4 and 13 months

| we free sleep...aka no safety sleep....never saw need for it...we tuck her in firmly and when she moves monitor is there as a back up...she rolls, moves and hates being confined.....but Tom may be different |

we still swaddle Ella and use the safety sleep as well. I plan to swaddle her until she is around 6 months and then just use the safety sleep. ------------- Mum to Ella (5) and Tom (2) |

| I hate using my safety sleep, Daniel gets cranky at the lack of movement he can do in it and then undoing the velcro scares him so I doubt I'll ever use it again! |

we saftey sleep and swaddled until about 6 months, now we just saftey sleep, he can't sleep with out it, and soon as he enters a lighter sleep or stirs he stands up, still asleep then freaks out...quite funny really.... ------------- http://alterna-tickers.com">

I swaddle and use safety sleep, although I don't use it before his dream feed as opening the velcro wakes him up. I find that even swaddled and in his safety sleep he still manages to get his arms out sometimes . And i put three safety pins into his swaddling sheet.-------------

| Tom loves to have his arms out but if he is really sleepy I can swaddle them in. The only reason I am thinking of the safety sleep is that I think we may start sleeping him on his side as he gets really bad wind /colic/ reflux (unsure which) and hates being laid flat. We have raised the bed a little too. |

| If you are thinking of sleeping him on his side you could try a sleep wedge. They are about $20 from baby factory. We have 2 for Daniel because we sleep him on his side because of his reflux, he won't sleep for more than an hour on his back (no matter what time of day). It makes him feel more snuggly having a sleep wedge too |

nope wont safe t sleep her now and thats for sure. She likes her freedom and I will drop the cot....and we slept like that as kids so no harm there. I dont want her restricted in her sleep or dependant on it....
she never liked being swaddled either....

Sam went through a stage of being swaddled but then got really grouchy if you even tried so we ended up just tucking her in nice and tight. The last couple of weeks she has been kicking the blankets off (darn elastic legs!) to get to the toe sucking so I have put her in a sleeping bag which I just love! She can't kick it off and with the nights getting hotter I can just put her in with a nappy and singlet and know she is warm enough ------------- http://lilypie.com">

When Ella learned to stand at the cot, she couldn't get herself down again so would stand and cry.. and therefore, no sleep
Within a few months the little houdini found out how to wriggle her way out of the safety sleep and that was the end of that! (and the beginning of working out other ways to get her to sleep). ------------- http://lilypie.com">

LOL i still have the baby that sleeps 11 - 12 hours no wake up...so long may that last = and hey if it doesnt then thats ok cause we have done pretty well thus far....

I have only just swaddled, i saw no use for a safety sleep and so expensive! #1 was swaddled until 6mths, #2 until 12mths and #3 until 10mths, i ended up using cot sheets to wrap them. Hasnt done them any harm and they still all sleep from 7pm-6am every night. ------------- DD 9 ~ DD 8 ~ DS 7 ~ DS 5 ~ DS 2 ~ DS 14mths ~ DD 3mths |
