ok my iron levels are low when I had them tested they were 8. My midwife prescribed me with iron tablets she is going to get me tested again at about 37 weeks.

my question is if you took iron tablets when you had your levels retested did they go up to the accepted level?

Yep,  when i was younger i was anemic and iron supliments sorted it out.  I started taking supliments again when we decided to start trying as i figured i would have low iron stocks and i have been god in blood tests to date.  you will find your energy levels improve as well (i was really lathargic when i was anemic)

My iron levels dropped extremely low (3) and I was put on iron tabs. MW said they were fine at the next bloods.. but on top of taking the iron tabs i took spiralina as well

I am trying to eat more red meat. I do prefer chicken and I like the really expensive cuts of read meat like eye fillet but we cant afford to have that 3 or 4 nights a week :)

Just remember that iron is absorbed into the system by vitamin C so eat oranges as well!!

Spirulina tablets or power is really good to help boost iron levels and also the iron tablets my midwife suggested were the best were ones that had Vitamin C as well to help your body absorb it. I cant remember exactly but think it was healtheries brand.

My levels didn't drop to a really low level but did drop between 1st and 2nd trimesters when I wasnt taking anything but jumped up nicely in 3rd trimester when I started taking spirulina again.
