We've been invited to two weddings in January when I'll be 33/34 weeks.
Anyone been to weddings at that stage? Was it enjoyable, tiring, worth it? How was flying? We'd be flying from AKL to Wgtn and Queenstown.
I'd love to go, but if I'm going to be hot and huge I'd like to give the bride & groom as much notice as possible so they can invite someone else.
Thanks

I got married at 39 weeks and had a great time!! Of course I didnt fly anywhere but I organised it all in 8 days.
So I say if I can be the bride at the wedding you can definately be a guest.

The closest I've been was 6mos (27-ish weeks) with #3 and it was in October... We were invited to the wedding and 'dance' (after reception) and I felt really uncomfortable and that I'd have to wear a skirt that didn't look like a tent etc etc. Well anyway I found a skirt to borrow and went along and had a great time! And there were heaps of women wearing pants anyhow LOL. I say go for it, just check the flying thing with your mw but you won't be able to do that until closer to the time.

I have posted some in the photo gallery but you need to do af ew more posts to get there
As for something to wear....check out some of the dresses at Egg. I found a beautiful one there and it made me feel sexy not fat!!! But....I found it way easier to try on preggy clothes and look good when you have a reasonable bump.....so wait till closer to the time. you will find something

so long as your mw clears you to fly at that stage it should be fine. i went to a wedding in october a couple of weeks before my due date. it was a bit tiring, esp since all people wanted to talk to me about was the baby... but i also went to a dinner/dance when i was quite pregnant and really had fun then. dancing while pregnant was cool.

I'm not flying, but I am planning on going to a wedding when I'm 40w 1d! The bride stills wants me to make it if I haven't popped or if I already had, so I'm keen for this bubs to either come a few days early or hold off for a couple of days! I wouldn't really see any problem in it, I doubt I would stay the whole time though (but like I said, that's at 40 weeks)

I flew to Auckland for a concert at 28w and am planning a weekend away with friends at 35w. I'm 32w now and would have no concerns about going to weddings at 33-34w, but I guess everyone is different.
You could lurk into the due in October thread and ask those girls if they would be up to flying to weddings at the moment?

I will be going to one wedding at 36 weeks (travel in car for 3 hours) and another 10 days before my due date.
As long as you are feeling good, I don't see why you wouldn't.
Buy a nice dress and go out and feel good for a night!

I'd recommend good support stockings if you're flying at that stage of pregnancy coz your legs will swell hugely, but other than that as long as you are well you should be fine.
As for the wedding part, I didn't go to any weddings but I went to my grandfathers funeral when I was 33 weeks with Maya (involved 5 hours in the car in January!) and to a First Communion when I was 33 weeks with the gremlins (Catholic thingie, lots of standing up then sitting then standing...) and coped OK.

Yep i went to a funeral for my girls great great grandmother about 2 weeks before i had Ayja, we travelled all day and I was terribly uncomfy even with my styley preggy jeans on.. I must say, a dress would probably make you a little more comfy, help you keep cool in the january heat and would also mean that you won't have pants digging in to you in all sorts of uncomfy places when you are sitting or standing etc. I would definately make sure that you are able to get a seat as well.. standing through a ceremony (which sometimes happens) would NOT be a good idea.

I had loads of weddings around that time! I flew from Auckland to Christchurch for a wedding when I was about 35 weeks & it was fine. I really enjoyed myself. Also had a wedding about 3 weeks before my due date which was about a 2 hour drive away. That one was probably worse as it was a sweltering hot day & the ceremony was outside with not much shelter. After the ceremony though we moved inside & you could sit down, so it was fine. We even got up on the dance floor later in the night!

I was Matron of Honour for one of my best friends at 7.5 months pregnant with Josiah. If you are prepared, then you'll be fine!
Make sure that whatever you wear is comfortable, that there is a seat available for you, and that you know where the bathrooms are!
