over the last few nights I have been waking between 4 and 4:30am (to get up to pee) then I go back to bed and end up trying to get back to sleep and fall asleep about 8am then wake up again around 9am.

Wow - if you are only getting up once to pee you are really lucky!!

I get up at 12, 2, then around 4 and then DH gets up at 7 to got to work, I try to go back to sleep but am normally awake by 8.30....so yeah only once is lucky...but it might get worse!!

I had the same problem (if you can call only getting up once a night to pee a problem) and my midwife told me difficulty getting back to sleep was a sign of low iron. I had awhile until my next lot of blood tests so she told me to get some iron tablets and eat a bit more red meat.

Don't worry - once the baby comes you'll probably crash as soon as the night time feed is over. I do.

Well I always found it good to get up and pee - I had to wake up in order to roll onto my other side anyway. If I slept too long on y side then it hurt!

You know, I still can not roll over in my sleep, my body has forgotten how!
