Both of mine were planned accidents. Andrew was 1 month after talking about trying, and Josh was the same.

Same here! I like the call 'planned accidents' - we were talking about trying but expecting it to take a while longer.

Jack was a planned accident. It was the first month of me being too lazy to get my pill script renewed. Caprece was the first month of me stopping the mini pill and having special cuddles once at the wrong time.

Alex the first time we tried!! And this baby the first month of really trying (checking ovulation etc) had been off the pill for about 3 months. DH was devastated... he was hoping for months of trying!!

I'm still breastfeeding Xavier and am due in May 08. Can't help with how long it should take to conceive while breastfeeding, as we weren't going to start TTC until around the time I'm now due!

LOL the last couple of days I've been trying to wean him onto formula during the day since I'm getting very tired and I think trying to sustain myself, Xavier and Crumb is a big part of it. He wasn't having a bar of it, he's too much of a booby baby! He's stopped mucking around so much at feed times now, so I'm going to keep feeding him until he's one, then wean him onto cows milk.

cool, i'd like to keep feeding Vincent as long as i can. AT least til he's 2 and half or so. that's probably really weird to a lot of people, but there is an extra immunisation boost that comes at about 18months aparently,
just hoping now we have bought a house, that i get some preggy action. lol...

Hey chonny I concieved Caprece while still bfing and breastfed up until I was 5 months preg, I really wanted to give tandem feeding a go but it didn't work out for us. Good luck to your ttc.

Hi Becca, I weaned my girls straight to cows milk/water at about 11-12mos as I couldn't sustain "eating for 3"

what's the best way to wean onto cows milk? I don't plan on giving up breastfeeding yet, but would like to get Vincent used to the taste as i'm wondering if giving him a bit of milk prior bed, will help top him up and help him to learn to sleep thru? Any suggestions?

It took Jack a bit to get used to cows milk because he was having it from a cup and didn't get the comfort like bfing. I ended up putting a wee bit of chocolate milk with blue milk to get him to drink it. I then slowly decreased the chocolate milk.
I can't see how old vincent is but since he is over one i would say the night waking is more due to habit than being hungry so you could try settling him without milk or offering a drink of water. Jack still doesn't sleep thru either so i know how sucky it is to still be getting up to them.

HI Rach, i must change his ticker actually, but Vincent is just over 13mth old.
It doesn't usually bother me getting up once, but its the nights we up more than that that i get annoyed.

Dont think it is weird at all. Still Breastfeeding McKayla and she is not showing any sighns of giving up soon.
I did nightwean her however as she started waking up more so now it is loads better. She understand that I tell her no boobies after 7. She is now able to go to sleep at night without boobs.

What I did with McKayla (we are co-sleeping as well which makes this method easier though) was as soon as she starts searching for boob I would just put my hand on her tummy and gently rock her. If she goes to sleep great. If she didnt and start waking up more I will feed her but as soon as she settles I would break suction and see if she goes to sleep.
We moved countries and she woke up about 12 times a night when we arrrived. Too much for my system. Within one week I got her off to one feed a night. That one took about 2 weeks to break. Then every freaking month when new teeth arrived she will have that 4 o clock feed again however.
But I can proudly say for the last 2 months she is really totally nightweaned.

ok, so how do i do it?
At the moment until we move house, he is on our room, in his cot. A while back we tried it where i would go in and rock his cot standing at the end so he wouldnt see or smell me. It worked, i wasnt having to feed him, but i was getting up more often than i had been previous, so gave up.
We have no teeth yet still but i think they might be on their way. but at the moment about 5.30 he has tummy pains...
