Topic: Pre-labour Posted: 02 August 2009 at 8:31pm |
This is an out of interest question:
In our due in Aug thread, it seems most people are inundated with all kinds of signs and niggles that labour is on the way. They are are having back pain, cramps, all sorts!
For me, other than baby being rediculously low, the odd braxton and the odd plug like glob (which have been coming for several weeks so nothing new there), I have nothing. Haven't had any aches pains or discomforts (other than struggling to reach my feet LOL). My back is fine, I have no cramps nothing like the other ladies. People left right and centre stare and say I must be about to pop but that isn't really a symptom
Has anyone gone into labour naturally without a pile of signs and symptoms beforehand? Has my body forgotten it is pregnant LOL!?

Hi
I had no "syptoms" as such I had been really uncomfortable for a few days but you are at the end.
I got a really upset tummy while in labour but nothing beforehand at all. I didn't have much show till I got to hospital when I was 7-8 cm.

Yip second time round I didn't really have anything. Baby was really low down from quite early on and apart from one false alarm st 37 weeks I didn't have anything until labour started.

Yeah with mine the day before labour started I had a few hours sleep in the arvo which was quite unusual for me and I had a show and a really sore lower back. Other than that no other signs any earlier (apart from thinking the week beofre 'I swear my stomach can physically stretch no further, this baby has to be on it's way soon!') lol

I had the false alarm at 37 weeks to Rach.
Gabrielle stopped growing at around 37 weeks so I'm not used to his whole huge and stretched to the limit business! I find it almost impossible to comprehend that she'll still be inside in 2 weeks as she is out of space and almost falling out LOL. I've got my waddle on which never happened with Elle.
With Elle I had braxtons gallore for months (from about 28 weeks) but this time I hardly notice them.

Hehe now that I can relate to! I had so much energy last week and cooked and cleaned like a mad person but this weekend I've been so tired! Today after church I randomly decided we'd take DD to a movie as I was too tired to come home and play mum! After the movie I came home for a nap which I NEVERusually do. Planning a bath and early night which I also never do. However, I think that is just normal late-preggie tiredness!

I woke up in the middle of the night with contractions. I had no prior warning. So of course I didn't believe it was happening.

Aside from Josh not moving much for the day and one evening being uncomfy and really wanting a shower i had no warning until i jumped in the shower sometime after 11pm my waters broke and my contractions started about 2 mins apart (if that) and josh arrived 2.03am. Only had my show while in the pool at the hospital. I was only 38wks and DP was at the other end of the island so needless to say i was somewhat shocked by the lack of warning and speed of it all.

Same here, plus it was 8 days early and everyone knows first babies come late. DD was born 6 hours after I first woke with contractions.

Had been having minor cramping for the previous 2 or so weeks. 6 days over (with DS2) woke at 4am with more cramping, got up went toilet, minor 'clean out' (IYKWIM) mild contractions started then. Increased intensity 2 hours later, got to the hospital at 6:50 (contractions at 50 secs long) I think the show/plug came away as I started to push, and he was born in his bag.(less than 3 1/2 hours after first cramping/contractions)
DS1 was more textbook. Increased discharge - greenish/ cramps/ bloody show/ cramping/ contractions/ water broken during labour nearly 24 hours after show. DS1 born nearly 2/12 hours after waters broken

My waters broke with no warning in the middle of the night! I had no clue anything was brewing. I was given drugs to stop labour so who knows how soon things would have happened if I wasn't ... anyways once they stopped the drugs a week later he only took about 8 hours to arrive.

I did. The first sign I knew I was in labor was my plug coming away and Alex was here 3 or so hours later In hindsight I had been a bit uncomfy but nothing else really to show that he was on his way. He was a month early as well so was a shock when hospital midwife told me I was 7cm dilated and he would be here soon.
