Hi there, am thinking of starting my 8 month old fully breastfed baby on probiotics to see if it helps with his "happy chucker" spilling issues, just wondering if anyone here has there little one on a probiotic and if so which one and would you recommend it? There seems to be soooo many different brands out there
I've had my 20 month old on probiotics on and off since he was 6 months old. I use the Inner Health Plus brand in powder form. There are several formulas... the natropath I saw recommended the adult powder for my son's constant antibiotic use. There is also a kids formula and a immunity formula. I mix it into his cereal each morning. Just make sure the cereal is cold otherwise the heat kills the probiotics.
Hi - I have used probiotics to successfully help both my babies with their reflux and tummy problems.
If your baby is fully breastfed then I would recommend that YOU take the probiotics - the inner health plus ones are fantastic, and they do have a dairy free variety too if you are off dairy. The probiotics pass through the breastmilk.
However I also used to give DS1 the Inner Health Kids probiotics directly - he would just eat the powder off the spoon without any problems but you can mix it with breastmilk to make a paste.
I've been giving DS Natures Way Primadophilus for Children, TBH I haven't found it to make any difference with him. And at $50 it wasn't cheap.
I think I'll opt for the Inner Health one next time.
