I've got my first FA appointment today, and AF has arrived. Does this matter? Will they be able to check everything they need to check? I've re-read everything they sent me, and they didn't say anything about it (surely they would?!)

I dont' want to ring them up to check in case they say not to come!!!

I think it's AF-related but I'm getting all worked up and worried about it...

Hey hopes! I would prob just give them a call and ask. What kind of checks will they be doing??? AF would only obscure cervical type stuff as ultrasounds (even the internals) are fine when you have AF.

I am sure it won't matter that you have AF.

Good luck

It shouldn't matter on your first appt as it will just be a chat and med history etc. Any tests needed will be done later on. Hope it goes well for ya    They are all absolutely wonderful at Hamilton FA

Hi Hopes,  you have not started any treatment yet, so it must be okay.  In fact, it could be a good thing because they have an exact date that your af started for their records

Thanks for your comments and support.

I've had a smear and some cervical swabs done by my GP, so it would only be a scan that they'd need to do (if they need to do one).

We'll see how it goes!

I guess it went as well as it could

They did a scan (you're right Birdie, they just go right ahead with the dildo-scanner - AF doesn't stop them) and confirmed I have PCOS - I could tell from the scan even before she said. I had been worried they wouldn't start me on clomid because of some other health issues I have (my GP didn't seem to think they would), but the Dr was happy to. So, since AF arrived today, I'm starting it on Sat. We'll see how it goes...

Thats great hopes! Thats so funny you called it the dildo scanner!!! My fingers are crossed for you and i hope you get a BFP soon!!!

Just a question about clomid, I have a friend with PCOS who is wanting to get preggars. She would like an obstetrician to look after her for the pregnancy not a midwife and she wondered can she get clomid off a regular obst or does she have to go to FA???
