Hi ya,

Long time lurker, but haven't posted on here yet! I may be converted, you all seem like a nice bunch of ladies!

Anyways.. Back to my question, sorry if it's been asked before! I'm 2 weeks late and still getting neg HPT, but have got very real (hopefully!?) early preg symptoms happening! Achy boobs, very heavy lower tum, tried, moody, queasy.

Is it common to have negative test early on while being pregnant? With my 1st preg I tested at 6weeks and got a very pink line!

I'm thinking I will give it till the end of the week and maybe get some bloods done?

my mate never got a positive on HPTs so when she went to the doc thinking something was wrong with her she got a hell of a surprise to find she was preg cos she had been testing.

Good luck

It's very rare to not show an hpt at 6 weeks... ya do hear about the odd person who never metabolises hcg in their urine until very late but it is quite rare... are you sure you didn't ov a bit later and the symptoms are real but it's still a little early? I know with my youngest I found out at the first scan she was 2 weeks younger than I thought... just a thought! Good luck and let us know how ya get on...

Thanks freckle, hadn't even thought of that!?

I'm hoping I haven't just convinced myself I MUST be pregnant, but then when I feel queasy again, maybe not??

This TTC plays with the mind a bit, fingers crossed!

I think everyone knows of someone who tested neg till 6 or 7 weeks so maybe it's not as uncommon as we think. Good luck!

tell me about it coopersmum.... It's soooo hard not to symptom spot when you really want it though eh!

yeah alyxw those doctor's HPTs are crappy - they're the quickcard ones and some of the ones you can buy over the counter are more sensitive (in saying that 4 weeks is pretty average for first bfp)... What did you test with coopersmum?

Welcome! I'm Emma (25) & me & my partner have just started TTC our first together.

Without knowing when you ovulated, it's hard to say what you should do... if you O'd on day 14 of your cycle, you should def. be getting a BFP - and I'd probably go for blood tests... BUTTTTTTTTT if you O'd late this cycle - it could still be too early?

I would probably go and get a blood test done either way, if you are starting to feel symptoms, they will be able to detect some HCG in your system...

good luck!

Have just used the quickcard so far, might grab a discovery when I'm out and about later.

It's a bugger I don't tend to have very regular cycles, would make it easier to work out, and the last time I got my period I didn't mark it on the calander because I was so annoyed!

We've been trying for number 2 for about 6months now, have a gorgs wee man Cooper who's 15months. To begin with we just thought, it will happen when it's meant too.. But now most of my antenatal group are preggas again, it was starting to get me down!

So yes lots of crossed fingers!

So i couldn't resist doing one more quick card test.. But this time have got a VERY faint line, still going to do the discovery, just to sure!

Yay!

awesome news coopersmum!!!!! so maybe ya did ov a little later... irregular cycles make it tricky eh! I'm the same and it's so hard to work out dates... but sounds like it's worked out nicely all the best for a healthy pregnancy!
