Hi there! Ashley is coming up on 8 months. She had always been a fab sleeper and up to a week ago all her naps were a good 1.5 to 2 hours. She has always settled beautifully independently.

All of a sudden all her naps are 20mins and she is grumpy which is not at all like her. She has been doing 20min naps for about 10 days. As far as I can tell she is well...no temp or anything and no signs of teething.

She always did 1.5 hours up in the morning an then took a 2 hour nap. I've tried having her up for 1.5, 2, 2.5, 3 hours etc and still just get a 20min sleep.

Just wondering what other babies of the same age do in terms of their awake times first thing in the morning? I really am not sure what to do next but I know she is tired and the 20min naps are not cutting it for her.

She's sleeping through the night so no issues there.

You just described Jade to a T. When I can get her to sleep in the morning that is. Turns out she might have just been hungry....I gave her some extra breakfast this morning, and she slept for a whole hour!! It was bliss - I managed a shower!!! I haven't had the same problems with Amber, it was just Jade, so hopefully we've cracked it. She has started to get more energetic throughout the day, so I'm guessing she wasn't quite getting full enough.

The girls are almost 8 months old as well.

My wee man has always been a short napper so can't really help you but I know how frustrating it can be! He can manage 3.5 hours of awake time most days but only has a 30 min morning nap and a 1 hour afternoon nap and on sometimes we still have to have 3 x 30 min naps! Has been like this since 8 weeks old!!! His night sleeping has and still is great so I just have to roll with it now. Hope this is just a phase for you FionaS

DS isn't a great day sleeper but I was happy and used to his routine - 45min morning + 90 min after lunch. But this last week he's been a bit annsie. I would have said no signs of teething, then all of a sudden a tooth showed up yesterday morning.

He usually up around 6.30/7am then down for his first nap 8/8.30 am. Which makes the rest of the day very long. I've been trying to move that morning nap to 9/9.30 am, so far with little success. Once he's making verbal tired signs I give in and put him to bed.
