it is possible to lose all of part of your mucous plug this early? i had a very large glob of mucous in my undies this arvo when i went toilet then nothing else until i just went toilet before and when i wiped there was quite a bit of mucous with definite blood in it, quite noticible but still more clear goopey stuff than red stuff. whats going on?

Yeah you can lose it weeks before labour. I would still give your mw a ring in the morning though just to let her know.

Yup you can lose it early and have nothing happen....thats what I thought as well when I lost mine at 36 weeks, Leah was born 18 hours later!!! Ring your MW, that way if something does happen at least shes had a heads up, and if nothing happens you have covered all your bases.

Good luck.

If there was no blood, it would most likely be nothing but the fact there is blood means its slightly more likely something may be happening. Give your midwife a call to let her know and be aware of regular braxton hicks or cramps.

In saying that I had some bloody show with Jack at around 35 weeks that continued right through til 40 weeks and he was born the day before he was due.

Ooh, I lost mine (with blood too) at 36 weeks pregnant, and had my baby 5 days later! Good luck, sounds like you don't have too long to go! (Definitely let your LMC know, mine was glad I told him, had me go in for monitoring and bub was a good size so said that they wouldn't stop it if I went into labour early - best to tell them to let them get prepared for things to happen early)

Sounds like it could go either way for you! I know of another woman who has had 3 shows so far, she's 36 weeks pg and bubs hasn't dropped at all. I think def at least tell your specialist about it though, better to be safe than sorry

I had that for 3 days leading up to labour. I had 12 "shows" all up and my m/w told me I could go atleast another couple of weeks before giving birth, but 3 days later DD was born.

Its a sign your body is getting ready! Good luck !

From experience i would be checking the bags are packed as that is what happened to me on Monday morning and Fay was here on thursday morning at 35 weeks (just)
Equally you could still go for weeks, as long as it's not bloody, your midwife will tell you to monitor it and not to worry
having had 24 hours without knickers or nightie, i would definitely pack that bag tho

hehe Claire I thought of you right away when I saw this thread!

The show can come up to 6 weeks before baby is born but the people I know seem to go into labour within a week. All the best!!
