Anyone have this all the time?
I just feel nauseous all the time with a bit of dry retching thrown in for good measure. I'm 9 wks and still so tired i just want to sleep all the time. I feel awful, eating a third of what I normally eat and have lost 3.5kg in the past five weeks. Nothing is fun anymore, I feel bad for saying this but not enjoying being pregnant so far at all.
My husband is getting fed up with me being like this but I'm not sure what else to do.
Anyone else feel this sh**?

I felt BAD too Disco but just this week I have been feeling a little better. Nothing I tried seemed to work (& I tried ginger, Blackmore's MS tabs, seabands, homeopathic spray, eating dry crackers & even meds from a specialist - none of which worked).
Fingers crossed the worst of it will pass very quickly for you. It sucks big time.

*hands up* I wasn't 24/7, but at times it really felt like it. Like you I lost weight - about 5 kg in 4 weeks and got the option of being admited to hospitalised to rehydrate etc. This had also happened with my first pregnancy so it didn't surprise me that much. One Dr I saw after a phone call to MMH one afternoon (not my normal one) was IMO useless. She kept telling me that I was nearly 14 week and should start feeling better soon, and seemed really reluctant to prescribe the anit-nausea tablets I was after. In the end she did, and then I went home to Mums for a week (turned into a fortnight) and she helped look after me and DS while I started to come right.
One thing she made me do was keep a diary of my symptoms and when I was taking the meds. It meant that if for any reason I needed to get hospitalised again all the information was there, eg how many times I had thrown up, when was the last time etc. Like Sally belly I had also tried a number of things and found that not a lot worked for me.
Good luck, I hope you start to feel a little better soon

HUGS - mine certainly wasn't 24/7 but as I was losing more weight than my OB liked she offered me maxalon (sp??) anti nausea stuff which is safe to take during pregnancy (I was 9.5wks at the time). I decided not to take it as its not like I was having trouble holding in water and I was eating, just not much. Although in hindsight I kinda wish I'd gone for it as my MS got worse before it got better.
Could you ask your dr or LMC for a prescription - you certainly sound like you need something. If you having trouble holding in water, definitely check with your dr/LMC about your hydration as you might need help (via a drip) to rehydrate.

I kind of had it - I had been waking in the night feeling sick and now I wear my seabands 24/7 (I started wearing them full time a week ago). Today is the first day I have had to be sick and I think its a combination of breakfast and a juice I had rather than anything else. I know people dont think they work but I do - when I have to take them off for a shower I feel like sh*t so put them back on quick smart. Maybe worth a try?
ETA: Your DH needs to just understand that its a really tough time for you - it DOES get better, I promise

I feel your pain! I was up at 3am last night trying not to throw up. It is horrible and very depressing
Chances are though that you are nearing the end of it. Weeks 9 & 10 can be the worst for morning sickness apparently.
I have tried everything but the drugs and nothing has actually worked for me. Definitley worth a try though like CuriousG says.
And yes, your DH will just have to try and be a little more supportive, if men went through pregnancy morning sickness would be recognised as a real illness!.

9-10wks is suppose to be when the hormones are at their highest levels and the worst for MS hopefully you are like the majority of people and it goes away at 12 weeks i was one of the unfortunate and had MS from 6ish weeks 24/7 (sickness bands and anti nausea drugs) till 34-36ish weeks when i finally finished up work was soooooooo not pleasant

Yup, I had it 24/7 with my last one, I tried everything but like everyone else nothing would work. At about 15 weeks it finally eased up but I still had to watch exactly what I ate. I only ever threw up a couple of times, but after doing that I would feel so much better.
My first pregnancy I would feel fine all day and the evenings I spent throwing up, I think actually throwing up was a lot easier do deal with than just feeling naucious.
How it got the name morning sickness I have no idea, it comes in all shapes and sizes.
Having saying all that now I am not pregnant I really miss it and would love to do it all again in a heart beat!

Oh yes I had that with my son, it was awful. I was sick right up until 12 weeks, then just felt seedy until 16 weeks.
I would feel nauseous all day and night and dry retch and gag a lot and I could hardly eat anything, I sucked on ice A LOT lol.
It sucks big time, but it does mean your baby is doing really well Just try and drink as much water as you can, and nibble all day long, a little and often and fluids are the best thing to keep you going.
ETA- As for your husband, he really needs to be more sympathetic about it, cos if men went through that, they would be "dying" and us women would never hear the end of it. I would just say "how would you feel being sick to your stomach every damn day". Gah men!

Oh you poor thing! I had ms from 8 weeks all the way through till giving birth Had a few hospital visits for rehydration etc and its amazing how great you feel for a wee bit after you have a litre of 2 of fluids into you! I tried everything under the sun, sea sickness bands, herbal remidies, crackers etc, maxalon, cyclizine ended up taking 4 maxalon and 3 cyclizne a day! Rest and deffinatly get something from the Doctor. If it continues you may need to see ab ob like i did who stopped me from working.
I must say there was an upside for me prepreg weight 72kg after giving birth 65kg!!! Woohoo

You have my complete sympathies. For my few months I was sick constantly with morning sickness.
Firstly, take it seriously and if you are not coping, go see someone. The first time I went to a doctor I was told simply to put up with it but ended up going back a few weeks later after not keepeing anything down and was admitted to hospital straight away as I was so dehydrated. Getting that drip put in does help, and for some people it's just something you have to do every now and then.
I was also given maxalon which I took a couple of times when I couldn't keep down fluids for days, but generally tried to stay off them. I was put on two weeks bed rest from 11 - 13 weeks which I think helped
As for remedies, I tried homeopathic, sea bands, gingernuts, eating before i got out of bed, constant small meals, salt and vinegar chips... pretty much anything. It's hard to say what, if any of it did, but it was worth a shot.
Good news is I came right about 16/17 weeks (I'm now 20). I know how it can do your head in, my hubby used to get so upset/frustrated feeling like it was his fault I was so sick but hopefully you'll come right and be able to enjoy it soon... and then you will forget you were ever sick

Thank you all for your replies, nice to know others are in the same boat, well not that i would wish feeling like this on anyone.
I've been drinking some, but maybe i should be drinking more, just all the trips to the loo are driving me nuts.
I'm hoping to meet with my midwife for the first time this week so I shall see what my options are. I didnt realise that week 9 and 10 were considered the worst.
My husband has been pretty supportive but we run a business together and I think he's stressed with everything being on his shoulders at the moment. He's got a lot to take care of. Fingers crossed this will be better soon, please god it wont be a 9 month thing.
Shannon- i would love to be lighter when i give birth, i could have done with loosing some weight before getting pregnant but love my food too much, i think that's why I am so miserable as there's just nothing to look forward to eating! everything seems to be taking its turn in making me feel sick.
Because of all this, I've not really felt any excitement at being pregnant and am worried that I will feel like this for the whole pregnancy.
sorry for having such a whinge, i just didnt expect to feel like this.

I had really bad MS as well and ended up having to take quite of time off work to cope with it and during the weekend I just lay down on the couch for the entire weekend and couldn't keep anything down. Honestly for me it was the worst part of being pregnant- even worst than labour!!!!!!! 2 1/2 years down the track I still have bad memories of it.
I don't normally drink milk (can't stand the stuff) but the ONLY liquid I found i could keep down was rice milk- it was really weird, but it worked and at least I had something in my tummy. I also tried ginger tablets, the seabands- nothing worked, in the end I got my doc to prescribe some drugs and they were the best things ever!!!! next pregnancy as soon as the MS hits I will be off to the doc for these....
and don't worry it will pass (easier to say through when you aren't pregnant) and you will start to enjoy your pregnancy, and the end result is totally worth it

Oh Disco, I feel for you! I had the nausea 24/7 as well, although have actualyl only been sick a few times.
Ginger etc did nothing for me, the only thing that worked was getting lots of rest (took lots of half days and sick days); plain food, and eating and drinking small amounts... I couldn't cope with fruit and vege, which drove me nuts as I usually eat very well.
My OB also suggested acupuncture, haven't tried it but for some it apparently works wonders. My ms went away about 15 weeks - just woke up one day and it was gone!

I was throwing up from about 3am to 11pm from 3 weeks til about 30 weeks (got to the point of just bringing up blood eeeuuuw ) then every morning til the day Jake was born and in hindsight I totally recommend the rehydration - worked wonders for me (though I was so sick that anything that helped was considered wonderful lol) and since the maxalon did jack my specialist put me on Zofran (Omeprazole?) which is apparently what they give chemo patients and wow it was fantastic! I went from not keeping anything down to only being sick in the morning and the nausea mostly disappeared. Next time I would totally be onto the rehydration part early since that made a suprising difference though I'd still hold off the hard drugs til after the first trimester if I could.
