OK so since I hit 6 weeks I've been feeling pretty tired and seasick most of the time, but was able to keep food down. I only chucked once.

But boy am I on a roll now - once last night and twice this morning. I had a bit of cereal, that came up. Then had a cold milo (usually helped me feel better) and that came up too.

I know it's only early stages and it could be A LOT worse, but is there anything I can do to make anything stay down? Any food that will work?

I have been stressed lately too Wondering if that's made it worse. I'm home sick today, and feeling very guilty for it. Thinking that other pregnant ladies just push through it so I should too.

Don't feel bad for taking a sick day! Some of us actually don't get the chucks and it's still difficult getting to work in the morning . Take care, rest up, and I'll just leave it to the more experienced mums to offer ms solutions. Dry crackers beside the bed is about all I know

I feel for you!!! I had aweful morning sickness (thankfully it is subsiding!) and just want to let you know that there is light at the end of the tunnel!!!

Food that made me feel better and kept down more than others was- gingernut biscuits, ginger beer, milk, jucies or ice blocks, jelly, sucking on hard lollies, dairy food.

Try and eat something before you get out of bed and always snack as an empty tum can make it worse. I found that food that was more liquid in consistency eg dairy food was easier to eat and when the inevitable vomiting occured it came up easier and less painful to bring up.

I went to the docs and she prescribed maxolon which didnt help me but I have heard it has helped many. I was also told that it is safe.

Lemonade iceblocks, toast and hard lollies all helped me abit. I found regular small snacks every two hours helped, rather than eating bigger meals.

Some people swear by eating before they move at all in the morning - I know some say dry crackers, but they can be hard to choke down, so other people suggest a banana. Easy to keep by the bed, easy to chew and swallow.

Don't feel guilty! You are unlucky to get the spewing kind of MS, and you need to rest, youa re growing a whole new person!

Dont feel guilty. I am home sick today to....through tiredness not morning sickness and I feel a wuss! How do others sail through it all?

I was lucky and only had a bit of nausea but I found iceblocks invaluable! I think for me I startfeeling sick so stop eating and drinking and then feel worse and sucking gently on an iceblock rehydrates me and I always felt better. Otherwise little and often does seem to be the answer.

Flat lemonade.....Thats the only thing that helped me..

To make it go flat, put some sugar in the glass first, then add the lemonade SLOWLY!!!!   all the bubbles will fizz away!
Dont do it the other way round.... I did that and ended up wih fizzy stuff all over the place!!!! lol!!!

i had m/s ( the chucking kind ) for 8 months, i didnt have anything to help , just kept away from foods that from experience made me throw up , BUT caitlyns step mum had m/s with her first and she got some wrist band things from a health food shop , not sure exactly what theyre called but might be worth going into healthy living or something and asking about it

Yeah I haven't had proper MS but the Callipo Lemon iceblocks have been great for removing that sicky feeling. I think it must be the tartness of them. Maybe you could give that a try.

I didn't do well on crackers, but found toast to be invaluable (not too toasted, just warm so it's not hard). Also, pita bread is great for variety. I'm still on the bread so I am incredibly bloated.

Weak black tea and gingernuts was what I swore by for the first few weeks. Always kept gingernuts beside my bed so I ate before I even lifted my head.

Good luck chick, I don't have the chucks, I know the sicky feelings bad enough for me!

i still have bad ms but for me DP brings me a cup of tea and peanut butter on toast (and dont tell me it can cause allergies i dont wanna know cos it the only thing that helps and i heard its an old wives tale so ill believe that for now) and i wear sea sickness wrist bands 24/7. I have some meds the doc gave me but they dont really make too much difference and she said to try not to take them unless i need to. I find eating what i feel like when i feel like it works most of the time but i still have bad days like today when i just cant make it to work and i feel guilty cos we are busy and the other preg girls dont have time off but i figure i must be a pretty bad case at times. Hope it helps even just a little. My ms started at 6 weeks and both doc and family tell me it will stop at 13 weeks at the most so i will believe them as i need the hope that i wont be a long term sufferer of this cos i dont think i could handle it

Hopefully it will stop for you ladies that have it. My midwife had MS right through the full term for one of her pregnancies. Not sure how she coped. Mine is disappearing though :)

I'm at 30 weeks and still experience the joys of morning sickness. It's more the nausea that gets to me! I'd rather be sick than just feel sick for the majority of the day.

In the beginning lemonade ice blocks were great, then toast and gingernuts also made an appearance. Of course, once I had been sick on something, it's hard to go back to it.

These days I just try to get up and eat as normal. If it comes back up it comes back up!

I had a friend who had bad morning sickness (sorry I am one of the lucky ones that didn't) and she found the only thing that worked was sea sickness wrist bands. You wear them on each wrist, they sit on a pressure point, I don't think they add anything to your system at all or if they do it must be OK as they are fine while pregnant. Not sure if this is what caitlynsmygirl was talking about or not but this stopped her being sick or feeling ill at all.

I had (and still have occasionally) really awful morning sickness, but i found if i was dehydrated i felt worse, so my advice would be to try constantly having little sips of water throughout the day, i ended up in hospital on a drip and being miserable and u dont want that. there is a drug called "ondansetron" you can get prescribed which is very good, but i wore the travel sick bands for about 4months everyday and i think they helped! also u can get ginger pills with vitamijn B6 (blackmores type) and they are for morning sickness and are GREAT.

I found eating before i got up was a waste of food, as nothing helped me, an just got used to the idea i HAD to throw up 1st thing in the morning to get my day started.
I hope this helps and it does get better (either that or you get used to it after a few weeks!!)

I found eating breakfast in bed before I get up has helped to avoid a few morning pukes in the last few weeks, but eating crackers before rising was a waste of time.

Also eating little amounts throughout the day - it is much worse if you get too hungry.

I got some ginger from the health shop which didn't have extra sugar which helped a bit, and a cup of ginger tea when I got to work was a bit useful. Mostly, I think there is not much you can do. Hopefully it won't last too long for you - and watch you don't get dehydrated.

I'm down to puking about once a week now - that is much more manageable.

I'm with MyBelly - started feeling nauseous at 3 weeks, started vomitting at 5 (thought I had the flu haha...) was regularly throwing up 40+ times a day (food, fluids, bile and blood) and ended up in hospital on a drip for a week and am now on Odansetron/Zofran. I still have to take it quite regularly
Don't feel bad about taking the odd day off work, I haven't been able to work at all.
Staying hydrated is hugely hugely important!! You'll find it alot easier to handle the nausea and keep food down if you make sure you drink lots and its a good gauge - can't keep water down over an hour? Get to your doctor/midwife asap! They should be able to refer you to the clinic at your nearest hospital and you pop in there for a couple of hours, get put on a drip and rehydrated before it all gets out of control! Gotta watch your blood sugar too coz it can get really low making you feel hungry constantly even while you're throwing everything up at the same time.
As for food I found marmite or peanut butter toast and sweet tea helpful in the morning but only after I'd thrown up the first lot of bile sorry maybe TMI hehe but it was easier to keep breakie down if I'd thrown up first. And the pills MyBelly suggested (ginger & B vitamens) are brilliant - B vitamens are essential to ward off nausea!
