Hey Everyone

Well my partner had a vasectomy reversal on July 1st of this year and we have been ttc since.
He had tests a month after to check for live sperm, they said that yes there were more live than dead (Sorry for tmi).
But it is now December and I myself have just had a laposcopy to check for endo and since nothing wrong was found we are getting a bit worried (tho I hav had pcos in past), like we know it wouldn't happen straight off but we still had hoped.

Sorry after all that info we are wandering where do we go to get his sperm tested again? We are a low income family so cannot afford any fancy places but if anyone knows anywhere in Christchurch that might be able to help us and the cost would be great

All we want to know is if all is ok and antibodies destorying the live ones

Thanks Heaps!!!

Also I don't know if this means anything but ever since a month of ttc my af has became weird, I seem to be running now on a 47 day cycle or more where as for the last year before this I was running almost like clockwork every month. So when this first started happening each time we thought I might be pregnant. I may just be getting paranoid as years ago I was never sure when it would turn up, maybe it just Coincidence (sp?) that it started doing it again?

My cycle suddenly got longer when we started ttc giving us false hope each month too, that sucks!
6 months is not long to be ttc, even when there are no issues at all. I would ring and make an appt with a dr at a Family planning clinic- ours cost only $5 with a community services card and free if under 25yrs, and the dr there has been brilliant with ttc and gynae stuff. Cheaper than a usual GP, and trained in gynae stuff and she spent heaps more time with me than GP;s do- like 30-45min appts!

We TTC for 2 years after a successful vasectomy reversal and then finally had an appointment with Fertility Associates. All I can say is I WISH I'D DONE IT SOONER! Yes we did have to pay, I think it was about $100-$200 at that time, but money well spent as the test were specific and thorough and we found out straight away that DH had antibodies that were killing the sperm (we also had normal post vasectomy tests, this will not pick up this issue). Basically DH's body decided that the sperm was disease as it hadn't been around for a few years and was creating antibodies to kill it. So with those results we had less than 1% chance of conceiving naturally. We did ICSI IVF and now have a 4 year old Daughter.
So my recommendation is if this is important to you, your best bet would be to try and get the money together and have a private appointment with Fertility Associates or similar.
Lou
