Topic: Jadelle (again) Posted: 05 June 2011 at 7:22am |
I just did a search for old posts, but it didnt bring up what I needed to know :)
Okay, so who's got it now and can tell me how they're going on it? No more babies at my house thanks! I cant have the depo, allergic badly to latex, bla bla bla :P
I had no spotting when I took the pill pre-kids, but after Lily I did have spotting - do you think this would mean i'd get the same on the jadelle? Its the whole reason I don't really want to take another pill forever - well that and my doctor wont put me on one again because i'm apparently too fat. (She also didnt appreciate it very much when I told her that she was being unprofessional by not helping me with a contraception and i'd be dropping the next baby off on her doorstep - but that's another story all together!)
So yea, advice, help etc? :)

I have a Jadelle.
It's better for me, when it's comes to hormones, as mini-pill makes me very depressed.
I had no AF with mini-pill and was hoping the same with Jadelle, but no, unfortunately I get AF every 3 wks And it's quite heavy. I've had the Jadelle in since March.
So, it does work, at not getting me pregnant or depressed, but the AF every 3 wks, I'm not liking and not like the heavy AF.
But, you may be lucky if you go on it and get no AF, some people don't.

i spotted on the minipill and got the jadelle in december and i have my period ALL THE TIME!!!!! , pretty much have it about 3 weeks out of every month, it comes and goes every few days . i have recenty been given progesterone pills to even out the periods and since taking them i have not had a period in 3 weeks and its the best feeling ever! still not sure what im going to do tho as i cant take pills as well as the jadelle , theres not much point in that but at the same time i dont want another baby and i cant go on the depo or normal pill as i react badly to them and i got pregnant with DD on the mini pill so unless i get a hysterectomy i dont really have a choice and as im only 25, in good health , and a good mum i very much doubt anyone would perform a hysterectomy and you never know i may want another bubba one day..... in ten years.... its possible i guess
Its a hard one tho MissAngel cos every one reacts so differently to contriceptions!

Thanks girls, yea all I've heard about Jadelle is it really messes with your AF. Maybe it's not going to be the thing for me then :/ AF usually arrives at the end of the month and it's like 'HELLO IM HERE!' for 3 days then bam it's gone and I love it. Maybe I should trial some different pills or something.. hm..

Yeah I could probably just go on the pill now instead. As I went on Jadelle in March cause I was still BFing and now I'm not, I have more options.

I agree what about a Mirena? If you have issues with the depo you may have to talk to your dr about what works for you. I can't take any of the funded pills and I refuse to pay $40 a month for the pill my gyne thought might work for me. I have a Mirena in (have had for the past 2 years and after the initial settling in period I quite like it.

Cant afford the Mirena :) Jadelle is $90 at the doctors which I can pay off weekly.
KA - yes, i'm still spewing about that! I cant believe they wouldnt do it for me :( I blatantly said to my OB that any future pregancies would result in abortion (and im sorry if that offends anyone) but he wouldnt budge.
