Hi Everyone!
A small group from Massey University Human Physiology department are running a study over the next two months, to look at better understanding colic in babies.

The testing involves Peta, the research technician, coming into the home and using an electrogastrogram or EGG (which is much like an ECG, where electrodes will be placed over baby's tummy) to monitor the baby's stomach activity.
The aim of the project is to determine whether electrogastrography (EGG), a simple electrical measuring procedure rather like an ECG, can detect differences in the stomach activity between babies with and without colic. To do this they need about 60 with feeding difficulties or restlessness after feeding, and 60 healthy babies of similar age to compare them with. It is preferred that the babies have been breast fed. They are looking for mums and babies in the Wellington, Horowhenua, Wanganui, Rangitiki, Tararua and Manawatu regions.

If you, a friend or family member has or is going to have a baby and may be interesting in volunteering, or you would like some further information about the study, please contact Peta Larsen either through email P.M.Larsen@massey.ac.nz or call/text 021970233

Thanks
