I am a new mum, and come NZ just 2 years, so a lot of things are still confused.

Hi Joyce, there are lots of daycare centres that will take babies from as young as 6 weeks. It's a good idea to go looking at different centres now as the good ones can have waiting lists in the order of a year long!

Not sure about costs, the centre we're booked into just put their prices up to $235 a week, but suspect that will vary wildly depending on where you are in the country.

Hi there
Whereabouts in NZ are you as prices do vary throughout the country.
A lot of centres will take babies from 6 weeks of age, as weegee said
here is a recent thread on childcare options

it discusses home-based care as well, which could be an option for you
Good luck!

Again, it depends where you are in the country, but you can try the yellow pages or finda as a good starting point!
