Charting is really good to work out what the heck your body is doing, and then after you have the hang of that, using some other method to check ovulation timing...ie poas or your microscope. I would wait til you have charts sorted before using poas or microscope tho as that can get a bit obsessive (and expensive if you use poas!).

And the biggest thing as someone mentioned is to not test for BFP until you are late as it can just be heartbreaking to do every month. And don't read into signs...half the time the things you think are 'symptoms' are just stuff that has happened your whole life you just didn't notice before now!

And last of all...don't listen to people saying just relax and it will happen....if you feel the need to find out as much info as you can then do it!

Good luck

I think you keep going because what you're hoping for is worth the pain that it takes to get there. It took us 16 months to get pregnant the first time, and even then we lost that baby at 5 weeks. Then it was 8 more months before thi pregnancy.

In the end that things that were helpful to me were not testing, just waiting for AF, charting to see how things worked, and then stopping charting (it was driving me insane), being on boards like this and then taking a break from them when I needed it. So contradictory, but that's life I guess.

Jade thanks for sharing your experiences with me it is so encouraging to know it should happen just by doing all the things Im doing. You're right, it's the only way to get there and once it happens it'll be worth it. Congrats on your pregnancy :) and Nat you're right, Im not going to test anymore until Im really late.

We are having a TTC break for 2 or 3 months because Ive just got a new job with a 9 month contract and don't want to get pregnant right away into it. So in the meantime Im going to use vitex and start charting and really get a good handle on my cycle. I think mentally the break will be good for me to get some perspective too. Thanks to all for your help

I got pg 2nd cycle, MC at 11 weeks, then got pg again after 7 cycles. I found taking mini-breaks was a good way to keep my sanity. I charted and took a few days off here and there where I didn't come on OH baby or temp. Once you know your cycle, you don't really need to temp when you have AF or after OV all the time. This helped me. Best of luck on your journey.
