Topic: Growing boobs and BF bras Posted: 01 July 2008 at 5:17pm |
Hi all. Need some advice from those of you who have been here before. I got fitted for BF bras at 35 weeks, started wearing them straightaway cos I'd outgrown my others. I've now outgrown 2 of my BF bras - boobs expand above them and I can't get my hand in front (which you're meant to be able to do). I'm trying to decide if I go and buy some more now, or if I wait till after my milk has come in in the hope my smaller rib circumference will help my bras fit better. Any advice??

I had the same problem and I got fitted at 36 weeks. After my milk production sorted itself out they fitted me perfectly and the lady that fitted me knew what she was talking about after all! I did have my doubts though as they were mega tight by 38 weeks when Lauren was born.
I would wait if I were you!

I had some fitted around 36 weeks... and they definitely did not fit once my milk came in! I got some bigger cheapie bras from the warehouse (they were surprisingly good) and used them in the interim... once my milk supply normalised a bit after the first few weeks of BF, I fit back into the ones that I had fitted.

At our antenatal class we were told to get fitted when we were between 36-38 weeks, as that's the size we'd be after the birth, once things settled down ... so just echoing what everyone else has said, I'd wait if I was you Flissty...

Mine were $40-$50 but you get get much more expensive ones like over $100 if you want really fancy stuff and cheaper ones from Warehouse and Farmers like just plain ones.

I have 2 Bendon ones $39-45 each and one hot milk $60. My HM still fits fine but the Bendon ones are really tight.
Thanks for the advice - I'll wait and see. I have 3 BF singlets as well ($30 full price from Farmers, Dana) which I think will do me for the first wee while. I didn't know WH sold BF bras - might be good for that first month or so!

It depends on what size you need. If you're 'average' you can spend $50 but if you're bigger like me then you are looking at $95+

I'm wearing one already simply because my underwire ones were too damn uncomfortable. I got fitted at Bendon in Sylvia Park, the shop manager there is absolutely fantastic and I'd recommend her to everyone!
I spent $45 on mine and I'd say its pretty large (16F). I will be getting some BF singlets (if I can find some big enough) for wearing at night when my milk comes in.

I got a couple of plain Nurture ones from Farmers yesterday, they were only $13 and $20 each (regular price), so you don't have to spend much if you don't want to... I think I'll wait and treat myself to a nice one after the birth...
