QuoteReplyTopic: Getting baby on the bottle Posted: 15 May 2019 at 7:47am
My daughter has just turned 7 months old. She doesn’t have much interest in solids yet as she is always keeping her mouth closed while I’m trying to feed her. I have been trying to get her on the bottle to help fill her up for longer because she has a lot of broken sleeps between the day and night and I think that may be the reason why? I also think she has some sort of dairy allergy because every time she has something that contains cows milk she gets red around her mouth. She does drink water from a bottle but doesn’t seem to like the taste of formula. Does anyone have any recommendations for a baby formula that doesn’t contain dairy? Any advice is appreciated!! Thank you
most lactation experts suggest waiting until your baby is at least a month old and breastfeeding is well established before introducing a bottle. if you're returning to work start bottle feeding at least two weeks before your start date so you both have time to adjust. Sucking milk from a bottle requires different mouth and tongue movements than breastfeeding, so it may take your baby a little time to get used to the change.
I have heard Enfamil ProSobee Formula is pretty good non dairy formula. I haven't given it to my baby girl since she seems to enjoy Holle but if you are looking for non dairy one you can give Enfamil a try.
I have been in your position. My lo was allergic to dairy. I started giving him Enfamil Prosobee and it worked out pretty well for him. Do give it a try but also, do consult with your doctor before switching bay formulas. :) xoxo
