Hi,

Has anyone from Franklin (Pukekohe/Waiuku etc) used an OB or birthed at Auckland hospital? Considering it for various personal reasons but worried about the travel during labour. Anyone here experienced that or plan to?

Hi frankliners.

Currently expecting my third baby, and all going to plan ut will be my second birthed at pukekohe. I was a bit nervous last time, regarding a birthing Centre experience vs hospital as my first daughter was. But I loved it. Great facilities and midwifes at pukekohe maternity. felt I had better care than at Auckland hospital. And in the need for transfer, middlemore isn't tooo far if traffic is ok. Then the usually transfer straight back to pukekohe for postnatal care as soon as safe.
