I’m 5 weeks pregnant. My doctor just told me that because my hcg level is not doubling everyday that I could be having an ectopic pregnancy. My hcg level has been doubling every 2 days - which I have read is perfectly normal.

Well that’s odd your doctor said that!! Hcg should double every 48-72 hours so every 2-3 days. Sounds normal to me hun. Did you have back to back bloods? She should miss a day or two between having them done

He sent me to get 3 consecutive days and I got the following:
Friday 3pm - 15
Saturday 10am - 25
Tuesday 8am - 99
(I believe implantation only occurred a week ago).

I’ve read everywhere that 2-3 days is the usual doubling rate so I’m not sure why he said that - it was extremely distressing and totally unnecessary to put that worry in my head.. in my opinion.. even if it does turn out to be an ectopic pregnancy...

I had a check on the hcg calculator and that has said your still in the normal range xx all the best hun
