Topic: OMG at my milk...lol Posted: 15 December 2007 at 3:34pm |
so today I was having a shower and pushing on my breast and my milk came flying out and I wasn't even pushing anywhere near the aerola (sp).

It's an amazing thing isn't it Careful where you aim those things though. You could take out an eye

I remember getting the hugest fright when I first had Maya, I had a bath at Birthcare, it must have been day 2 I guess and I dried myself then leaned over to pick up my clothes and realised I was still dripping and I was like "WTF I just dried myself?!" Then I realised it was my boobs dripping like a tap all over the floor! I never realised how MUCH would leak out!

I found the aim really helpful when Cohen had sticky eye. My MW told me hand express some off and then pour it over his eye to wash it out. I never bothered expressing it off - I just waited for let down and aimed it straight at him

I did exactly the same thing, thought it was dripping off my hair at first and then realised it was coming from my boobs!!!

Avent make collection cups that you can wear when feeding and then you can freeze that milk for the babysitter to use when you want a night off. I would easily get 40ml out at a feed that would otherwise have been soaked into a nipple pad. After about 40mls it starts flooding out so you need the nipple pads as well

LOL ... good way to scare a male, say you're armed and bring the girls out ahaha!
My boy was only a few weeks old & my younger brother came into the room to see bubs, I was b/feeding at the time and pulled bub away, milk continued squirting and managed to get my bros shirt LOL! Least to say he doesn't step near our room now when its feeding time, I think I scarred him for life! He was so shocked at how far it can go! I still get engorged all the time too & mastitis regularly :(

Funny, I so remember those days (still wish I had them some days).

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

If you use those nipple cups things remember to take them off before you get up!
I was putting Anyssa to bed when she was a few days old and it was pouring with rain outside. I noticed all this wetness in her bed and summoned DP with crys that the roof was leaking... He was like, "umm look at your top". Yep it was the entire contents on the cup thing...

I just shove one of my expressing cups under the nipple (lodged in the bra)when I feed off the other in the morning - my record from just catching the leak in one breast was close to 80ml!
