Have a question... When our MW first came she told us not to pull clothes down over Daniels eyes as it can damage them. To pull them up from their legs.
We've been doing this and if the top has a big opening and it completely stays clear of his face we will pull it on that way. Now he's getting chubbier it is getting to hard to pull his clothes up over his pudge..
When is it safe to start dressing him by pulling tops over his head without damaging his eyes? I can't imagine it would drag that hard on his face....
My mum thinks I'm being over cautious.

I have never heard of that before! Just be gentle I guess. Dressing a baby is awkward tho.
We loved the stretch-in-grows or singlets that open up flat, so u can lie baby on them, and then do up with them up with minimal movement for bubs! Baby clothes with buttons.domes behind the neck and back should be banned! So annoying, and must be so uncomfortable for bubs too!

I was never told not to pull stuff over his head. I would just try to make sure that it was as clear of his face as possible, but more to not make him cry than anything else. Most tops have poppers on the shoulder so that they open nice and wide anyway.

i've never heard of that before  as long as nothing brushes his face then i can't see the problem.....in fact, i can't imagine a slight rub of fabric on his face could do much......?

I just tend to bunch the top up so that there is a clear oening of the neck-hole (kinda like sticking on socks.. lol) stick my two thumbs thru the opening, use the rest of my hand to pick up either side of baby's head and flip the top under neath it, then bring the front down and it will usually stay very very away from their face.
Maybve she just meant to make sure you aren't literally dragging the clothes over his eyes, cos i would imagine that might hurt em a bit if they were pushed about but otherwise NAH, have never heard that.

yup same with Megan everything barring her shorts/pants/nappies gets pulled over her head//except for a body suit I bought off TM I literally had to squeeze her head through it poor girl she didn't like it.
but most of her tops have either domes/buttons on the side or back or have a wide opening for the neck/

Most of Miss K's t-shirts/AIO's are envelope necks or have buttons somewhere handy so have wide openings anyway but when I put something over her head I open it wide and put her face region through first and then take the rest over her head before I put her arms through the sleeves

I've never heard of that either but you just be careful around babies anyway so I can't really see what she was trying to get at. Go for it, after being told something like that I seriously doubt you'll ever be able to get something over his head "too rough"!

reading this i wonder if she was meaning cause the lables were still in his clothes? we removed all labels from all of ellas clothing for the first six months so they didnt scratch her. maybe she noticed labels and decided to make you cautious...altho maybe overly so!

Altho we did buy the gremlins some tops from Farmers and had to cut a slit in the neck to fit them on over their fat heads.
