Topic: The best thing... Posted: 24 March 2008 at 5:37pm |
I decided to start this topic so that if you are feeling down and need cheering up, and also a reminder to why you had kids in the first place that you can look here and have a smile.
So, what is the best thing about having a child and what has been the funniest things they have done?
For me, it's having a little version of my DF and me. Funniest thing, is the giggle she gives us when we first see her in the morning.
Now over to you....

What a lovely idea!
I wish there was something like this to read in those first few weeks...
The best thing for me at the moment (one of millions, come to think of it..) is the smiles.
Especially at 3 in the morning while feeding.
I'll be dead tired and wishing for nothing more than being able to close my eyes and slip into sleep, but Hannah will stop sucking, look up at me, and grin like an absolute lunatic! She'll then clamp herself back on, continue eating then fall asleep with a smile on her face

The best thing is seeing him do something new each day.
Today he gave the cat a cheesy grin and then looked bemused because the cat did not return the gesture.

One thing that makes me smile, well I try not to, is when I tell Jack not to do something (most often not to pull every page out of the phone book) and I use my sternest voice and he just looks at me and smiles as if to say "but I am so cute, why would anything I do be wrong?". I have great difficulty keeping a straight face

Ohh great topic. Luke loves crawling over to the sky decoder box and stops looks around and then pulls out the card.He gives such a cute cheeky smile and if i'm watching he just laughs. so cute If we say No Lukie he just laughs grabs it and hids it under the rug! Monkey.
He's amazing, such a blessing that we waited for I just think of this when he wakes at 3am for a feed!!

Seeing Ella laugh and giggle really cheers me up. Today she had so much fun playing with the curtain in the living room- thought hiding in there was the funniest thing ever . Our fav thing is at the moment is playing hide and seek....I hide somewhere in the house and she crawls around looking for me and laughing away. It is so amazing just watching her grow and learn something new every day...and just seeing her develop her own little personality (and her wicked sense of humour).

Rex does exactly the same thing and it just melts my heart He also likes to hold hands while feeding.
I also really love how there is no one as great as mum. He seems to be able to face the world with me by his side
I also love the fact that I get the greatest pleasure out of watching him discover/do something new.
I would go on for ever...but I won't

The early morning 'gummy' grins.. awww so precious!!
When she reaches new milestones.. it makes my heart skip a beat in a good way
When I first laid eyes on her after she was born..Wow, so perfect
The way the elder three (even though they aren't legally mine) make me laugh..sometimes hysterically and to tears LOL

When she grabs me and gives me a huge pash! Or when we are playing crawling games and she crawls up to me to give me a huge pash then crawls away laughing.
the fact that everyt time she does something she thinks she's the bees knees - and so do we.
oh, so many things!

For me the way my kids interact with each other.
The way Cooper growls hello to me in the morning when DH puts him into bed with me to play.
When I walk thru the kitchen and Willow (bird) wolf whistles at me!
