ok it may not even be an issue..but as a child I was a bedwetter probably till I was about 11..so yeah quite late.
anyway my inlaws said that both her boys were dry at night by the time they were 2..so of course when there then 5 year old grandson stays the night and wets the bed they think this is too old.
it will be interesting to see if Megan ends up being a late bedwetter or is lucky enough to be dry before she is 3.
I do think though they need to realise that not all children will stop wetting the bed before the age of 2 .
I just hope that if she does still wet the bed when she is 2 that they dont think I am a "bad" parent or anything.

My sister was a bedwetter till approx 17years! It was really awful for her. I felt really bad for her... she actually went to a hypnotist at this age, and never wet again.
her eldest has been a bedwetter until recently (just turned 10), the other has always been dry.
My 5 year old seems to have 'just' stopped recently... he may have the odd accident, but hardly ever now.
Don't EVER feel likd your a bad parent... bed wetting is one of those things that is really really hard on the person involved (and the mum/or dad doing the washing)... but the last thingyou need to worry about is being judged by others.
HUGE hugs!!! The great thing is, that as you were a bedwetter for quitea while you will understand the feelings associated with it and be that much more supportive.

Excuse me for sounding skeptical of your PILs but 2 is very young to have night time control over the bladder, I assume they mean 2 as in at some point between 24 - 36 mo (probably in the older part of that range) not 2 as in before 24 mo because from what I understand it's actually very rare for children to be night time trained before 24mo (infact many children aren't daytimed trained by then either).
I know it's hard but try not to feel under pressure. Children will become dry when they're ready, some later than others and it's not worth stressing over. If they continually bring it up I'd google it and find an article that fits in with what you know/believe and give it to them - always works for me when I want my ILs to come around to my pov.

2yrs old is definately young to be TT'd overnight! some are, but most are 3-5 i would think?
jack has only ditched the nighttime nappy this week and he'll be 4 in august so i'd hate to think what your in-laws would think of me 
my MIL likes to tell me that DH was fully TT'd night and day at 12mths!
i was a bedwetter until 10-11yrs and my brother is 30 and still sometimes wets the bed!

I am in the same boat! I was a bed wetter till I was 12 years old. My Mum took me to every kind of therapy available to help as she felt so sorry for me, but NOTHING worked. It used to upset me so much and I tried so hard to stop but couldn't, then one night I didn't wet and haven't wet ever since.
My Mum was a bed wetter too, so Lauren has a high chance of becoming one . I am fully prepared to help her every way possible if she does become one as it destroyed my confidence as a child, I could never stay the night at my friends houses and I never ever told them why.

one thing they did do was before they went to bed they would get their boys up and get them to go to the toilet.
not sure if I agree with that method....thats probably the main reason they were dry at night at such a young age so yeah probably more to do with their parenting rather than the boys being ready as such.
I'm certainly not expecting Megan to be dry at night before she is 3 and even after the age of 3 I wont be surprised if she has a few wet nights.

i get jack up to go before i go to bed, then again during the night when i'm up letting the dog out. i figure he'll soon get use to being woken and wake himself and go.........i didn't get him up one night and it was the only time he wet the bed

Night trained at 2? A bit unrealistic me thinks! Most kids aren't even fully day trained by 2!
Maya was an early TTer, was fully day trained by 22 mths but still in night trainers at 4 and even now at 5 still has the odd accident. In fact, about a month ago she went thru a stage of wetting just about every night. And I don't think that makes me a bad parent!
I'd be telling your IL's to stick it!

Don't stress about it because she will get it when she's ready. A whole lot of factors come into it but the bladder-holding seems to kick in at 3-5 yrs generally and after that you can check things with the GP if need be. DD1 was dry at nights at about her 4th birthday. While she was 3, it felt like it would be ages! It was about a year after she was day TT. DD2 has been day TT for 6mos but no signs of holding on all night yet.
