Coop has a fever, his temp is 38.1. He last had pamol at 5.00 so can't have anymore till 9. He's been miserable all afternoon. Has a horrible nappy rash and had 3 dirty nappies today.

I've just BF him and he's asleep wearing just a singlet.

Is there anything else I should be doing? At what stage do I take him to A&E

This is the first high temp he has had so I'm a bit of a wreck!!

and on your birthday!!! How rude!!! Hope the wee guy comes right.  I think you can slip an extra dose of pamol in  as long as he doesnt exceed 4 doses a day ( I think, thats what the doc told me) so i'd be tempted to give him more if his temp is still up and he's unhappy.  I wouldnt wake him though.

Poor tike.

THe pamol should have kicked in after 1/2 hr. Normally if Ella has a high fever and pamol doesn't work, then an hr later I give her some nurofen that always brings it down.

I stagger the pamol and nurofen. I would just try to keep him cool, and try to make sure he is drinking plenty, and take him to the Dr tomorrow to get him checked out.
