Topic: E A S Y Routine Posted: 23 March 2009 at 2:01pm |
So Hollie seems really settled on the easy routine, but each cycle only really lasts 2.5hrs as she doesn't stay awake or sleep very long
What do I do about phasing some feeds out? Do I just get her up, change her and start playing? Is it likely to throw her out?
I'm not worried about feeding her each cycle as generally she sleeps like an angel at night, but she seems to be becoming fussy.
Any advice or experiences appreciated :)
(Shes 4 months on the 27th)

Sorry I cannot help but I would be interested to know also, as we are a bit the same here too.
Have you tried asking on the baby whisperer site?

Similar here. and it seems that whenever he wakes he wants feeding. Cant help but feel that the easy routine sort of made him into this habit.
btw didnt realise hollie wasnt that much older than brennan. felt like months when i was waiting lol.

I hear you HUNTD, waiting was awful and took forever.
Agreed on maybe it was caused by this routine, yet at the same time it was this routine that helped us both settle so I'm hesitated to change it.
HeidisMum I'll have a look at that

I had this issue for ages, I have a power napper - no matter what I do and for ages I was feeding every 2 - 2.5 hours because he did not sleep long.
All I can say is it just started getting longer, he doesn't really sleep much better in the day but I now only feed at 7, 11, 2 & 6
Now we are more doing, feed, play, sleep, then it changes to play, feed, play sleep and repeats through the rest of the day.

I had the same short cycle on EASY, and just rolled with it. I figured that the more she ate during the day, the less she would want at night...
From memory, things stretched out over time, and when she was older I progressively dropped feeds - it seemed natural to drop the feeds at the time, so just go with what feels right for you.
(oh gawd, small babies, can't say I'm really looking forward to all that again!)

Arianne feeds the same times as Finley.
She feeds, play, sleep, play sometimes has a short nap then feeds again.
She still isnt fully set on the routine but we try our best.
