After being the perfect sleeper, Daniel has decided that 5.30am is the perfect time to wake up. And lets us know by wailing. And wailing. And wailing. This morning DH ended up feeding him and giving him his meds early (the meds can sometimes trick him into going back to sleep). He slept for another 45 minutes but then woke again - he played in the lounge for 45 min then went back to sleep for 1 1/2 hours.

I don't want to feed him then and make a sleep association. CIO doesn't seem to work (or maybe we go in too quickly in our sleep-deprived, not-thinking automatic reaction). He has been really grizzly the last few days (same time as he started this early wakeup) so maybe he's just not well, or is too cold ....

Maybe daylight savings ending tomorrow will sort him out as 5.30 becomes 6.30 - still early but a little more socially acceptable.

Ideas?

no ideas, but hate to tell you that the clocks go back, not forward

ETA; and it's next weekend, not this one.

I've had the same problem recently, and have decided it's to do with the cold waking him up, it has suddenly gotten colder. Three nights ago we started putting the heater on in his room again and he's slept through since then (which he hadn't done in weeks!). So another layer of clothes maybe, or time to stock up on the firewood?

and yeah, blondy's right - spring forward, fall back

Oh feck.

I might put the heater on and look at heavier sleeping bags. Guess the tax return is being spent in advance!
