Hi,
So after being at work and then away with work a lot this week, DH comes home and makes the helpful comment like that portion is far too big for him.
However I have found out over the last few days that two icecubes of solids is not enough, he would finish and then sit with his mouth open as far as he could stretch it like more please, so anyway the other day I had no defrosted in time so gave him jarred food and he ate the whole jar, which means he can easily manage 3 jars a day.
Do I have to restrict what he has or just feed him if he wants it?
I just keep feeding Joel until he stops, I figure if I was hungry I would eat until I was full why shouldn't he. Joel eats the equivilent of 1 of the big jars or more 3 times a day.
i would feed him as much as he wants. unless he started showing signs that he was eating too much on a regular basis. Like unsettled after eating or pulling legs up like he has a really sore tummy. my son eats more than i would ever expect him to eat and we moved past icetrays within a week of him eating solids. He now eats a whole small bowl of mashed veg with mince or other meat and a small cup of apples for dinner. And will sometimes have a sandwhich as well. I figure if hes hungry let him eat. Nothing worse than a hungry baby. Hope that helps
Yeah babies only eat what they want and need. Remember all babies are at different stages at different ages i.e. crawling etc... I use to worry with maddy that she was eating way more than the other babies, but then she was crawling at 6 months and the others were not sitting yet so she needed the extra calories.
Does he sleep better if he eats more?
Just need to watch out for full signs. You will find later that it might change and it is usually over three days that a baby eats what they need.
