Buggy dilemma!

Hi,
Just needing some advice!

Bubs #2 is due in late Oct and Lily will only be 13 months old, so we really need a buggy that they can share!

Currently we have a Mountain Buggy Urban Elite which I love and I'm trying to work out what I should do for a buggy when #2 arrives.

I like the Phil and Teds concept of having one in front of the other - but some of the other features I really dislike (i.e. the sun covers having no hood, there being a space at the back, not easily reclinable from sitting up to sleeping and I've heard they're not the easiest to fold!?)

We bought the MB thinking there would be a bigger gap between babies and that Lily would be on a kiddy board at the back!

Anyone with any tips, etc? How good are the side by side Double Mountain Buggies and how do they compare to P&T side by side double!?

I want this kind of durable buggy as I do a lot of walking (especially down the beach).

Ok so I have treid a few buggies and I guess it depend's what you want, but I will list the ones i have had what I like or not.
Did not like my valco with the toddler seat as the older child could not sleep and I found it tipped with the toddler on the front.
I have had an older pedigree with toddler seat great for 2 toddler's, but not for getting in and out of car(was fine when i was not driving worked pretty good on the beach and you can often pickup a cheap one on TM. And I have seen you can get a storm cover that goes over both seat's now which is cool. oh and the toddler could not really sleep in the seat.
Loved my double moutain buggy was fantastic but again no good for shopping and hard for the car.
A double pedigree useless is the only word.
Now I am getting a brand new P&T I did not like them at the begining however they look to be the best option that cover's all the bases not too big for shop's the storm cover's fit on both kids. Not too big for the car hoping tthis will elimate the need for a stroller stch. Will let you know waht I think when I get it.

Oh I have 18 month's betwen first 2
2year's between 2 and 3 and will have another 18 month gap coming up and I found mr inderpendant nearly 3 year old hates a buggy where as my slightly lazier nearlly 5 year old want's to sit in so it kinda depends on the kids but I would say a 13 month gap warrent's a double cause they can both lie flat to sleep.

I've just got the MB double and it is great for walking, haven't tried it out shopping yet but they say it is only 5cm's wider than the single. As NZ piper said, it is heavy and lifting it into the back of the car is hard but I just have to build up my muscles and that might make it easier. You do need to make sure it fits in your boot. We have a people mover and when we first tried to put the MB in the boot it didn't fit. We decided to get it anyway as it was more for walking from home but we did another try in the boot and it fitted in first pop...so I'm not sure if they changed there design or what but we are pleased that it fits

Linda that 5cm makes a HUGE difference. Its only 5cm across the wheel base I think and so the actual seat parts stick out further.
