Topic: Nappy Leakage Posted: 25 June 2009 at 11:45am |
Hi,
Ok so since he has developped the art of sitting by himself, he only seems to poop while sitting - guess its natural.
Anyway a lot of the time, as he sits, it seems to shoot up the back of the nappy and escapes.
What am I doing wrong? Nappy too loose, too big, not big enough??
Does this happen for everyone?

Hmm, have you tried doing the waist up tighter? If there isn't enough slack to do that, maybe go up a size? My girl sleeps in a toddler size huggies at night, and she's tiny (like 8and a half kg) so the tabs meet in the middle, but we havn't had any leakages (of either kind) since we began doing this.

I did wonder if we should go up a size, not sure we could do them up much tighter, and he is already in toddler size nappies!!! Maybe I am doing it up all wrong. will try doing up tighter first I think.

Snap! If I can catch DS with his poo face - or hear him - I make him stand up or get him upright so there is more room in the nap and the poo doesn't shoot upwards.
I got a poo in the jolly jumper today. As you can imagine, it was glorious!!
TBH, I don't think a bigger nappy would solve the problem, we just live with it.

I frequently have to deal with this! Doesn't matter what type of nappy either, although his MCN's with good back elastic are better at holding it in. I just got used to having a little man who does huge poo explosions!
