Ava who is 10 months old, has just started to move independently. She doesnt get up on all fours - she uses both arms and her right foot to drag herself across the room. BUT her left leg doesnt do anything. Is this normal? She looks like a wounded soldier :)

When Jackson was shuffle crawling, he dragged one leg. Looked ridiculous! It was his left leg too and he is clearly right hand dominant. After a few weeks he figured that getting up on his knees was easier, and that's how he crawls now. I wouldn't worry too much for now, but if it goes on for too long then take her to your GP. Or do you have a Plunket Family Centre in your area?

Does she bear weight on both legs when you try to get her to stand up?

Yep she does bear weight on both legs when standing. It just looks so funny when she crawls like that!

Totally normal, but yes weird too! My niece did that and it does look exactly like wounded soldier. My son did a kind of a seal flop with his whole body to get along for ages.
