Hi,

Yesterday afternoon and today DS has woken from his afternoon nap in a total state, totally inconsolable, with me rocking and singing to calm him down, the crying is real pain crying too.

Yesterday he had a fairly high temp to go with it, 39, but after some pamol came right.

Same today gave some pamol and he's starting to calm down now

The rest of the day he is totally fine.

He has i think 5 teeth, never really had any issues with teething, most of them so far just popped out, but it just seems a bit quick to get over it for it to be a bug or anything?????????????

Meant to add no other symptoms, no vomiting, or diahorrea, although he does seem a bit gassy.

burning red cheeks too, right the way up to his ears!

Hey Fi

Catriona had a fever on Sunday which i think was down to teething (not quite that high though). Sounds pretty similar to how Fin was - pamol calmed her down,

I have looked around the web and found a lot of contradiction as to whether teething causes fevers or not . . . opinion is divided

We never had problems with the first 6 teeth but the others following have been a nightmare! My sister told me nurofen for children is better for teething than pamol as it lasts for up to 8 hours and works as an anti-inflammatory whichs targets their sore & swollen gums.

Hope he's better soon chic

We used clove oil on his gums and gave him brufon and I'd get his ears checked too coz he got a few infections when his back teeth started pushing through. He got a temp with the last ones too even though the first lot he pushed through without us even realising.

E never got a temp but after the first 6 teeth were awful..waking him in the night.. seems to have gone on forever.the molars were the worst..doc said pamol the best option and preferable but we used nurofen before he told us that with no issues.. he hardly needed it till the molars though:(

Jackson's got his top molars coming through, and I also think the bottom ones too. He guards his mouth and won't let me look or feel (part of his aversions), but when I do see his lower gums, they are SO swollen.

Is that normal for them to swell up? They look about double the size. He keeps getting a temperature and is utterly miserable. We barely ever give pamol as he's so aversive, but last night I had to and had a different baby on my hands after (although he still wouldn't let me put him down).

He's also not sucking his bottle - I have to squeeze the teat for milk to drip into his mouth. Is this something babies do when they are teething?

Sorry to threadjack with my questions Fiona!
