Hey guys - we've never been to the Parent and Child show but are planning to this year (in Auckland). From those of you who have been previous years - which day is the quietest/less busy - Fri, Sat, or Sun??

Thanks!

I went on the weekend last year and it was madness by the time we left (we got there pretty much when it opened).

I would have like to go on friday, still might, but DH cant get the day off work.. I am sure if he will not want me to go on my own as I will spend to much but will be very happy not go again LOL.

I would say just get there early whichever day you go and invest in the stickers with your name and address (or print your own at home) as you will wish you had by the time you get about quarter the way around

What do you need the stickers for?

I've been almost every year for the past 7 or so years (worked at it while I was a kindy teacher and then my boss paid for me to go when I was a nanny) I would say Friday or Sunday afternoon are the most quiet.

There are heaps of competitions to enter hence the name and address stickers.

In the foyer when you first go in theres a stall where you can pre-print stickers with your name, address, email etc, and it saves tons of time entering promos at all the diff stalls, cost us $4 from memory? and it was a sheet of app 24 stickers.

I am going to go Friday, I figure first in, first served on all the good stuff available, and not as many people as there would be on the weekend (working parents, school kids etc) but defintiely get there as soon as it starts to get a park and get in without too much hassle!

Awesome thanks guys - sounds like Friday morning is the best time to go - I'll see if DH can get a day off work, otherwise Sunday it'll be....

Ohhh, cool, I'll print some stickers off at home - thanks for the tip!!

Those stickers are great. However I'm almost certain that some of those businesses in there sell or pass your email details on. I had never had spam before (my name is not at all common enough) and then roughly a week and a half after going to the show I started getting spam.

I absolutely agree. I NEVER enter thse competitions that require phone number or email because it's a sure fire way to ensure you are on all the telemarketers & spam email lists. My husband is in sales & marketing & he says the only point of those "competitions" is to get your info so they can sell it to third parties. It's not worth the irritation of telemarketers ringing you all day & night IMHO.

haha - i have to say i have mastered the art of hanging up on telemarketers. i used to feel guilty but now i'm so sick of them i just say "no thanks" and hang up on them before they have a chance to say anything else
