Hi ladies,
My daughter is turning 5 in September & I am in the middle of planning her birthday but I can't really decide what to do....for those who have 5 year old's what did you do for your kids 5th birthday?
Number 5 is a very special age (a huge milestone) so want it to be very special.
Did you combine your family & your childs friends in one party? Or did you have different celebrations?
Hire a Bouncy Castle!! Best thing ever, entertained the kids ALL day (Minardi's 5th) They came in to eat & do the cake then back out again!
No need for any other games or entertainment I think it was about $120 for the whole day?
We hired out Playcentre for the day. That means enough toys for all the age groups at a very small price. Most Playcentres hire them out to non families too so just call around.
McKayla wanted a garden party (but our garden wasnt ready yet). So ask your girl what theme she would like. I then did baloons in the shape of flowers (with normal round baloons). That was hanging down from the roofs. We had pots from warehouse and I bought punnets of flowers. Got stickers and pens. So kids decorated their pots first. Then each one got a spade set from the $2 store to fill up buckets with dirt and then planted their flower. Hands washed and then it was food time.
We had boerewors rolls first (basically a sausuge sizzle but in a roll) and fruits and all sorts of things. All decorations was homemade. Cake came out later with sweets but by this stage the kids were quite full. Out for pass the parcel (had a few other games ready but wasnt necessary). And then Daddy flew over with a small model plane to drop sweets out for the kids and they ran to get as much as they could. Boys were really into this but the girls were running just as fast.
Really I would start by asking your child. Most of the things is what she wanted or she asked for. I love doing parties but really love doing the things ourselves.
