QuoteReplyTopic: Speech Topic Help Posted: 08 May 2011 at 12:02pm
This is a bit of an unusual request, however I thought you clever ladies on here might have some ideas.
My husband has to do a ten minute speech on any topic of his choice for a course assessment. There are no guidelines about topic choice as the assessment is all to do with delivery, structure etc.
He is quite keen to speak about preparing to become a father and being a father as he thinks he can have some serious parts to it, some funny things and also use photos. Also it is something he feels really comforatble talking about. The only problem is we can't think of a particular angle/point to the whole speech.
The audience are a mix of female and males from early 20s to 50s. Obviously some without and with children.
Please please share any ideas you may have that may help!
How about comparing/contrasting how being a dad now is different to 50 years ago? Dads being at the birth, changing nappies, playing with kids more etc...
