Just a quick question, Jake has a mild case of nappy rash but for the first time it is on his foreskin (and spread a little up his penis now too).
I was always told to leave it alone but it looks sore and I am sure it is.
We use curash with every nappy change but when he gets nappy rash we have to ditch the cloth nappies as he needs bepanthen or pawpaw cream to get rid of it and he cant wear liners as that makes it worse.
So we are putting the cream on his bottom, what should I do about his penis???? Do i put the cream on or sprinkle some powder on it???? I dont want to do anything that my cause infection.
Poor little thing Have you tried to see if a little bit of time with the sun on it helps? I did that for a couple of days every nappy change during the day (just a couple of minutes) and within a couple of days it was gone and I'm sure that's what worked. At least then you're not putting anything on it that would irritate.
I'd put the cream on it and some powder too! Its only gonna get washed off when you bath him anyway :D
Good luck with it - we had super nasty nappy rash for ages with Thomas - didnt matter what we did, he still got it. Turned out he was allergic to a cheap brand of nappies. but yea, cream + powder = awesome.
My boys have had rashes that have spread up the underside of their penises making them look very sore. I use sudocream (sample I have) and spread that on the underside too. I am sure if you are only using it externally (ie...not moving the foreskin) you should be right to put cream on it.
Before you had kids could you ever imagine rubbing cream on a willy? or smearing it between someones bumcheeks? lovely isnt it
Thats what I though, as long as it was external it should be fine...
He will def be getting some sun time.. might even have it in the garden later. It only came yesterday morning and is spreading quite quickly.. its move down his botty now.
Its not like his normal rash either... we are trying him on dairy again.... hmmmm
